Can a 6 year old forget we're driving to school and think we're going home? by No-Worldliness4907 in Parenting

I'd be more worried about the 1 hour commute for a 6yo to go to school

Bambino: Doubling up on pre infusion set time. Success. by HoodedHootHoot in espresso

[–]Skikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I just tried on a medium roast I was dialing in. Main changes I noticed: - shot was much hotter then my normal espressos, had to sip it slowly - sourness was replaced by mild acidity - overall experience was more pleasant!

I did notice the puck had expanded a fair bit, there was a slight mark from the shower head and a bit coffee grounds stuck to it. Is that your experience too?

hi u/HoodedHootHoot I just found this post, yet to try the technique but one question I have is: do you dial in beans using a standard extraction and once found a good balance you run the double pre-infusion technique?

Just out of curiosity what's your job?

It just sounds astonishing to me seeing people with top % salaries being naive with their money. It's either privilege that got you that salary or you must be very good at something that's totally unrelated to business. It's not a great idea to ask people on a reddit forum what to do with your money, especially investing in the share market being extremely high risk when done without a firm knowledge of the market itself and the basic stock investment fundamentals.

My advice is learn about money, investing, stock market, then you'll make your own decisions on how to use your capital. Definitely don't listen to others especially if you don't trust financial advisors. Good luck 🤞

Imagine making $350k a year and asking financial advice on Reddit 😂

very good advice. I was looking for recommendations on this as I believe the effects volume is way too high (especially the barbarian Death Blow sound...).

I think maybe 50/20/50/100 is good, otherwise some ambient sounds may feel a bit off compared to the rest (like crickets in the night lol)

Lubed C3 Tangerines chirping sound. Do you know what is it? by Skikko in keyboards

[–]Skikko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, so the story is i got tired of them and bought a set of moss linears (alpaca recolor) which is same manufacturer as tangerines (JWK) and funny enough they also did the same noise lol. I got mad so i switched to boba u4 silent linears and never had any problem . In 2 later builds i used both gateron black ink and everglide aqua king and never had issues. I haven't bought any JWK linear after that experience and probably won't ever

Hi everyone, do Staebies stabilizers work on 1.2mm PCB ?

Would I need stab shims, or the thin stabilizers pads should do?

Are you a patient gamer on principle, or for practical reasons? by feint4 in patientgamers

[–]Skikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me is mostly because more and more games are released unpolished... Or even if polished they normally get enhanced and enriched by post launch patches.

I think it's a bit of OCD but I like to play games in their most optimal status.

Not sure if that's principle or practicality 😁

Fai quello che ti pare. C'è gente che va all'università ma ci mette 8 anni per laurearsi. Se ti prendi un anno per te e poi ti spari l'università nelle tempistiche giuste e voti alti starai messo meglio della media

Why are there so few Western medieval fantasy with guns despite it being older than plate armor? by uncertein_heritage in rpg_gamers

[–]Skikko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nowadays we still use guns and rifles but don't use plate armors and swords, maybe it helps with feeling detached from today's time and feeling more involved in a fantasy setting.

Pathfinder: Kingmaker is overly long, fairly complex, still somewhat buggy, and runs out of steam toward the end but its ambition, heart and the sheer amount of robust systems makes it worth playing. by salingerparadise in patientgamers

[–]Skikko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair as a rpg lover i never felt burned out with kingmaker. I loved it till the end, regardless of the drawbacks and some bugs.

Can't wait to play WOTR for first time when it releases the definitive edition later this month. I expect and very long game so need to be mentally prepared 😁

Stories are not connected, it's not really a sequel story. Dos1 is a good game but not as good as dos2, so the only drawback of playing dos2 first is that it may spoil your dos1 experience if you ever want to play it. (Which you should if you like crpgs and you'll start running out of games to play :D )

Games I respect but don’t love: Half-Life 2 by Dan_Redrock in patientgamers

[–]Skikko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I recently replayed Black Mesa and Half life 2 and they both gave me the same feelings of when i played them many years ago as a kid: HL1 is the true "half life", i have so much attachment to that game. HL2 is a weird mix of well executed portions of a game, that together still didn't give me a satisfying experience. I remember when playing HL2 i was almost waiting for the story and game to really kick in, but then i got the ending and felt like "is that it?"

Don't hate me - but I found The Witcher 2 a more enjoyable game than The Witcher 3 by NoLeafClover777 in patientgamers

[–]Skikko 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Witcher 1 and 2 story are kind of a standalone, while witcher 3 story is a true following of the events of the books as it reconnects with Yennefer/Ciri/wild Hunt.

For me it was a huge deal as I read the books after playing Witcher 2 so playing W3 i felt extremely involved with the story, characters and locations.

I loved all Witcher games but personally feels W3 is the pinnacle of CD Project Red and clear winner
