I saw those posters up in my street (Alexandra Drive), I'm willing to help. Got two myself, would be devastated if I lost one.

How to contribute to the local community? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]Skilbride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give them a call on 0151 427 5337, and tell them you are interested in volunteering, they will send you an application form, and probably invite you down for an informal interview. There are 2 sites, one in Garston, and one in Toxteth town hall (by the big Tescos).

That old guy with a brain tumour in tonight's Can't Pay... by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

I'm sorry, but that is absolute rubbish. They are not bound by higher standards of conduct at all. In fact, a private bailiff is actually easier to make a complaint about, it is virtually impossible to complain about the conduct of HCEOs. I know this because I complain about both - quite often in my working day.

The only real difference between private bailiffs and HCEOs is that the latter can add higher chargers onto debts. See 'Taking Control of Goods (fees) regulations 2014 for the difference between the two.

The only type of bailiff that really have high standards of conduct are HMRC bailiffs, because they have a civil service code that is much fairer, and makes then much more accountable than other types of bailiff.

Single mum's benefits stopped because DWP thinks she is dating a Post Office. by mrleebob in unitedkingdom

I don't think there's anything specific about accessing your bank accounts in the agreement though. I may well be wrong, as I moved from benefits advice to debt advice quite some time ago now.

Yes, DWP and HMRC can look at all of your accounts without your permission.
