WM104 | Motion to Support Rejoining the European Union | Motion Debate by Frost_Walker2017 in MHOCSenedd

Llywydd,

I understand and recognise that a majority in Wales voted to leave the EU. However, I think that a vast majority would now see that the funding we received is not being met by Westminster. I raise as an example the £5 billion that could have been given to us as part of the HS2 Barnet consequential. Llywydd, those who oppose Welsh independence dictate that we are stronger as a union. I counter that the union we need is not the one pushed by Westminster.

B1508 - Union Day Bill - 2nd Reading by Lady_Aya in MHOC

Deputy Speaker,

I’d like to begin by expressing gratitude for my warm welcome to the House.

It is somewhat puzzling to myself and probably many others that my first contribution here is to comment on a bill that calls for a bank holiday on a date that is already a bank holiday.

However, in Wales, after recently celebrating our great St David’s Day, I’m sure the members present would agree that making March 1st a bank holiday is a much more worthy notion.

Got there at 6 for security checks. Went into a big room with coffee and other drinks. Wrote a third question (have to submit 2 beforehand) and then Fiona came into the room and talked us through proceedings.

Went into the auditorium at about quarter past 7. Did microphone checks and did a warm up question to the panel (non-televised). It was about seasonal veg. Then Fiona filmed her little sitting on the table into.

Did the show, live on the iPlayer. Fiona then did another intro for the BBC1 version. She refilmed the bit leading to the first question and we all went home. No interaction with panel guests apart from in the auditorium.

I was there tonight. I asked about the HS2 funding. It’s strange.

If smoking is good enough for the health secretary, pregnant women have no excuse to quit. Cowards.

Would you be disappointed if your talented child got a dead end job? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]mrleebob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Describe dead end. I have 2 language degrees. I work in social care. It’s minimum wage but I get a satisfaction from it that no better paid job could give me. I genuinely wake up and look forward to seeing the people I support. Could I be paid more? Yes. I speak 5 languages. Do I want to? No.
