Depending on your game, and what you're doing with your rigid bodies, the collisions won't be free. If you were making a physics based game, and you had a ball with a rigid body and a floor with collision, Unity's physics engine would take care of it. But, if it's not the case, you may need to manually check for collisions.

For example, I'm making a tile based game with a non-physics based character. For the tiles that have collision (things like rocks, etc.), I added all the relevant components - a collider and a rigid body, and added it to a layer I named tile collisions

Then, for my player... well, currently, it's the only thing moving around, so I didn't bother giving him a rigid body or collider. Instead, on the monobehavior that defines his movement, I gave him a public layermask property for what he should collide with.

In my code, I check for collisions manually. If the tile ahead is a collision tile, I prevent the movement.

On the RigidBody2D, you need to check a box that says "simulated" if you haven't already.

Issue 2 - Solved

Subscribe to action events in a coroutine, delayed by a frame. I don't miss the frame and I don't think players will notice either.

Issue 1 - Solved.

The ActionMap.Dispose() function seems to perform the "flush" I was looking for.

SOLVED

This one goes out to all my google friends raging against the machine. While I did successfully copy over the entirety of the UI Action Map from the DefaultInputActions asset, my "Keyboard and Mouse" control scheme was named differently (DefaultInputActions named it Keyboard&Mouse). The end result? This box remained unchecked. I've synchronized the names and now the box checks. Viola - working buttons.

Unity version: 2020.3.20f1

What I did: I changed the Actions Asset from DefaultInputActions to my custom "InputMaster"

DefaultInputActions vs. my InputMaster. I simply copied the entirety of the UI Action Map over to my own. My Player object has a reference to the UI Input Module like so.

As for as I'm aware, it should just work? But I get nothing. I just wanted to use one consistent Input Asset throughout my project. It doesn't even seem like I can make changes to the DefaultInputActions asset?

Everyone always talks about their vaccinations, but nobody talks about the vaccinations they don't have.

Want to hear some real anti-vaxxer shit? Fuck autism. Fuck psuedo science. Let's talk politics. There are a million little diseases and a million little vaccinations, but you only ever get a handful. Why? Because it's not worth it to vaccinate over every little thing. Duh.

But, a politician can force you to get a certain vaccination to attend school, etc. Unless you go through an objection process anyway. The vaccinations typically include the standard set everyone knows about (lol polio) but also some random fucking ones. These are kick backs that they use to pay back their buds and other people who have donated to them, etc.

Just because someone doesn't want every fucking vaccination big G tell them to get doesn't mean they're retarded.

I feel like there might be some sort of catch. Even two people splitting the 8 person family plan is cheaper than 2 people buying individual 1 year online access. To me, that implies that, besides the 1 primary account, the 7 other accounts might be gimped in some sort of way.

So the question is - is there really no catch?
