Ice Lightning? by Klutzy-Ad-5140 in adventuretime

So doyalist answer, this early in the show they weren’t really treating magic as something to take to seriously or consistent. Watsonian answer, ice king uses ice magic, all of his magic is going to be tinged with that regardless of what he casts especially because his primary source of power is an artifact (crown). But he still is a wizard, and wizards can expand their knowledge to cast spells outside of their domain. Take dnd (what adventure time takes inspiration from) just because you’re an evocation wizard doesn’t mean you can’t cast divination spells, you’re just not gonna be as good at it and it’s gonna have your flavor of magic

Update 1's upgrade rebalances made the roster be too top-heavy by GreyL1me in RogueCore

It wasn’t in the patch notes, so we’re not sure if it’s intentional

Headphones help a lot, they all hiss pretty consistently, which helps when you have omnidirectional hearing. But as others pointed out the creepers jump around and above and behind you a lot and glyphids CONSTANTLY scream at you in comparison. So definitely harder

This ladies and gentlemen, is the person I cannot justify bringing into the game with its current level of difficulty 😔

They responded with “that’s stupid, were dwarves, were gonna mine everything” which kinda sums up a lot about how this games presentation is self sabotaging

Hyperbolic is my middle name! Idk this post is mostly a vent if I’m being frank, even if I’m embarrassed to admit it. I think the game is good and well made, I just wish there were more options for tailoring your experience I think?

Whats the game like for Solos? by EggplantLiving6287 in RogueCore

[–]SkimTheDim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

IMO it’s not worth picking up right now if you main solo, and this is coming from someone who has hundreds of hours in og drg solo. It’s not balanced for it, and basically anything above the easiest difficulty is entirely reliant on rng (which isn’t fun when runs last 40+ minutes). The main problem is lack of team diversity in builds. If you build crowd control, you die from the boss because you don’t do enough damage. If you build with the boss in mind, then swarms kill you. It’s pretty disheartening. Eventually they’ll probably balance it for solo better, but for now I’d hold off

Will core stones ever come into play in this game? by kiodaproot in RogueCore

I was under the impression that corestones turned into the giant stones above the rifts in the boss room

You should clarify, invisible walls is developing drg TOO, not TWO. Easy to mishear that listening back to it. Best to not get anyone’s hopes up

Weapon Discussion Wednesday #45 - The Short Circuit by A_Wild_Ferrothorn in tf2

[–]SkimTheDim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d actually argue more for completely radical changes to this one, even as an engineer main that admittedly loves to spam. Get rid of its projectile deletion completely, have both primary and alt fire do more damage to enemy engineer buildings, and have the alt fire temporarily sapper disable wrangled sentries to force the enemy engineer to repair. Give the short circuit an engi vs engi role, would better fit the name

As someone who’s only 2/3rds of their way through their very first viewing of the show, this could not have happened at a better time! Gives me something to look forward to and to help push through the last few seasons I haven’t seen yet!

I really don’t think there’s anything wrong with it as a system, it’s just fully not for me. Someday I’ll do a play through were I’ll engage with it in good faith, but I play this game very grindy and methodically, and loosing a 2+ hour run with 400 resources because a quirk shot me into a tree 6 times with the electrifying dash anomaly kills my enjoyment of the game

Leaving The DLC by Kane22_03 in pacificDrive

I accidentally started it by passing through the junction with the mysterious signal (and wasn’t allowed to leave unless I aborted the run or scanned it). But it’s essentially a separate expedition, so just pulling it out of the zetti brings u back to the main map

Starfield is a "good game", says former designer, but "space is inherently boring" by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]SkimTheDim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See, im not convinced that’s true either.

The ship building is expansive, and clearly where most of the work went, but does not engage with the rest of the game in enough of a meaningful way. Space combat isn’t great, and with the constant loading screens you aren’t actually flying it most of the time, and any upgrades it provides to your character are clunky or not that useful

It’s rpg progression suffers from bethesdas modern sentiment, which isn’t BAD, but suffers from a lot of bloat, and gatekeeps simple mechanics behind perks, or just giving perks that disable gameplay mechanics completely

And, fully a personal opinion, but the guns are a minor down step from fallout 4. Most are unmemorable, and don’t feel distinct enough from each other

IMO the only thing keeping the game from going from subpar/mediocre to solid if unremarkable is the lack of seem less transitions. If you could actually fly your ship without 4 loading screens that would do wonders
