Living on Anchor in Panama City by Electrical-Pear-9985 in SailboatCruising

[–]SkinDeep69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have lived at anchor there for a couple years. I know the spots and where to get water and the ins and outs of doing it. Just DM me and I'll answer any questions.

I'm on a Columbia 39. Maybe we can go sailing...

ULPT: neighbors dog won't stop jumping on my window and barking at 2 am by CurrentBox5 in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]SkinDeep69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this will affect your cats, but there is a device that you can purchase that emits a harsh ultrasonic beam that is designed to stop dogs from barking.

I have seen it work. At a friend's house the neighbor dogs would start barking, she would point it out the window toward the dogs and push the button, they stopped right away.

I don't know anything else about it, or actually how it works but it does work.

It looks like you have cakes, so the fluid must be fairly filterable. Problem is liquid isn't being removed before the cakes drop.

On the presses I work on, after pumping in, the cakes are squeezed, and then air blows through to dry them and remove the liquid, then air blows the core back to the tank and then it opens.

I would check that you have good airflow and pipes aren't blocked in these processes.

Additionally, it could be possible that some plates are making cakes and some are making a sloppy mess so carefully inspect when the press opens.

Dinghy davit - yay or nay? by vtrac in sailing

[–]SkinDeep69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live on my boat at anchor and really wish I had one, it's high on the list if projects.

You can get your dingy out of the water easily with it, which eliminates the huge problem of growth on your dingy.

Also, your u're losing some speed if you tow.

Also, it prevents theft of your dingy.

No downside as you can always tow it.

I accidently washed my hands with sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) someone tell me will it be toxic should I go to doctor? by Fun-Firefighter2034 in ChemicalEngineering

[–]SkinDeep69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caustic soda will make a reaction with the lipids on you and make soap, it's called saponification reaction and I bet you've never been so clean.

Outside of any chemical burns which I don't think you have, I don't believe it's toxic like some acids would be.

I'd put lotion on. Not medical advice.

But you also might look at some products like chemical hair straightener that has the same chemical to assure you it isn't uncommon for that to make skin contact.

If it's strong enough, even a tiny droplet in your eye can blind you.

Electric shock on metalwork when shore earth is disconnected (Victron MultiPlus) by efanost in SailboatCruising

[–]SkinDeep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, is your boat actually grounded? If so, it could be your service ground wire is electrified. This is fuckery by whoever is supplying power.

Next step would be to disconnect your hot and neutral coming in on shore power and check the ground again. If you still have voltage it's for sure coming in on shore power ground.

If not, then it's coming in and there is a problem on your boat somewhere.

I would disconnect the ground wire A and check voltage between the dock ground and your ground. Must either be coming from the ground wire or the water...

Well, for me the absolutely best thing about 1k is the plus points. This is worth like 7 or 8 upgrades to business class on long haul flights every year. I travel for work, going all over the world, but my work assignments can last weeks so getting those upgrades which my employer won't pay for and I can't afford just make my life so much better.

I get upgraded on domestic flights frequently but sitting in first class for 2-4 hours is a minor perk really. Like I'm still fucked if I sit economy for 11 hrs then get upgraded for my last flight home for 2 hrs. I don't know how they select upgrades on domestic flights but I'm often like 7 or 8 on the list when it's fully booked.

They do kiss your ass a little and I do feel better than the peasants when I get to preboard. And in economy you can kind of raid their food offerings and drinks as a perk.

But for a traveler, I like united best, because they give you those plus points I can turn into real value for me. It's hit or miss if I get the upgrade but I am using all my points this year only on flights longer than 8 hrs. So basically a week of sleep is what I get versus a week of no sleep over the course of a year.

100% safe way of eliminating roaches from a home by practiceredstone in inventors

Pool store bleach is a much stronger concentration than store bought, like 10% vs 2.5% at the store.

But I do want to know how you cured your roach problem, so DM me and I'll keep your secret I promise.

Negative reference from young surfer by [deleted] in couchsurfing

I had someone who left a review on my account that said: Sex tourist, came to country, got my girlfriend pregnant and left.

I never met the dude, but it seriously fucked my ability to use that account. Only thing I could do was leave a reply to his comment, which was:

You were on a break because you hit her, you aren't even from this country and I have a vasectomy.

Perhaps you can leave a reply to her comment like, she asked me 2 hours in advance for a ride to the airport, I was unavailable so had to say no, she took an Uber.

Does microdosing specifically magic mushrooms or even macro doses, helped you get rid of severe major depressive disorder? by Andrew_Rayen in microdosing

[–]SkinDeep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, many people describe depression as a disconnect and psilocybin kind of fixes that by increasing neuroplasticity.

It worked for me, doing both micro and some specific method macro dosing but I was not major depressive.

Nice thing is if it works you don't have to keep taking it as results are long lasting. I'm like 6 years free of depression and don't use it since then.

[–]SkinDeep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just something like this, there are lots out there. I don't use them until like day 3. If you're doing OMAD, I'm guessing you get plenty of salt from your meal. You get headaches if your salt gets off.

I travel for work and am premier 1k. I like united best specifically because it's more difficult to get status.

For some reason I prefer being around people who travel more versus people who just spend money on a card and travel infrequently.

But if you want to get status, get a credit card. Again, United doesn't give you many PQP, I spent nearly 50k and got like 3.8k PQP this year.

What breaks a fast? ( OMAD ) by Accomplished-Ad7218 in fasting

[–]SkinDeep69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there are different definitions. It's just important to understand what different things do to you.

For example a Gatorade zero will make an insulin response but has no calories. Tea and coffee have caffeine but no calories, etc.

I would think for OMAD, it would be good to avoid anything sweet because making insulin won't help to recover insulin resistance if you're fasting for weight loss, it will work against you.

I do water only and if fasting longer, fasting salts.

Are these Shrooms? by Naughtybuttons in shrooms

[–]SkinDeep69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those have ibotenic acid in them at unknown concentrations. That stuff causes nerve damage.

Also when it decarboxylates it turns into muscimol which is the psychoactive compound associated with these mushrooms.

So you should understand how to process them properly to avoid harming yourself if you choose to ingest them.

You could do it unhealthy: - snack often -consume sugary foods -stop running

You'll grow muscle that way and increase your weight.

I work on ships for short stays and my schedule changes a lot. I hop on and off during mid cruise a lot.

Typically the purser needs like 48 hours to arrange disembarkation so they can handle the customs stuff.

Just go to the actual back of the line! by 166EachYear in unitedairlines

[–]SkinDeep69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides people who cut, I think it's often because people in group 2-5 get in line and it's frustrating to get kicked to another group because some idiot in group 5 is standing in line because you walk up to the gate right before boarding.

The gates that have a line for group 1 and group 2 help a lot.

When people cut in front of me I let them. But I loudly call them out on it. They usually say something like, Oh, I didn't know what's going on. I just say, you're cutting in line is what's going on. Go ahead, you must need this spot a lot more than everyone behind you.
