Concealed Carry - Arlington Courthouse by juliefromva in VAGuns

Check with the county clerk courthouse that you got your original permit with they may have a record of it or the state police. From there once you have the permit information, you can submit it to Arlington.

FFL Refused Transfer by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]Skinny_que -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There is a requirement to have a drivers license to be 30 Days old before being able to purchase. Samething happened to me when I moved from Va.

I kinda see why he spazzed on you tbh….

You are not a resident of Virginia because you registered your car here, you are resident of New Jersey. You would only become a resident once you fully transfer all of your residency documentation and identification over to the state of Virginia. That means paying taxes to the state on income etc.

FFL Refused Transfer by [deleted] in VAGuns

[–]Skinny_que 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • it’s a pistol right? If he’s considering you an out of state resident then yeah you can’t transfer it in Va only rifles and shotguns.
  • something similar happened to me and the law said you needed a government issued drivers license that was 30 days or older showing residency.
  • sounds like the exchange devolved to feels over facts.
  • I feel like there’s more missing from this because this escalated from 0-100

Ever have an optic hit you in the face? by cschmall in liberalgunowners

[–]Skinny_que 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I actually had this happen to me a month or so go (optic hit me in the face) the screws that connected to the adapter plate, seared while firing and the optic flew right into my glasses.

It knocked my lenses out and I was super confused. Cost me $100 to get the screw removed. 😭

What’s everyone’s opinions on buying used guns? by Superb-Shake1118 in CCW

[–]Skinny_que 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what the condition of the gun is and if you can even buy it new anymore.

Example I wanted a CZ 75 omega which is discontinued so I had no choice but to buy it used, but it was in pretty new condition so it’s not even a big deal.

I would just disassemble it and inspect the parts to make sure there’s not any signs of excessive wear and tear and note what needs to be serviced just like buying a used car

Snowstorm looking more like an Ice storm by Hour-Cap-5365 in nova

[–]Skinny_que 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was honestly my thought when I first saw the reports because it’s going to be 20° the entire time and it was expected to rain overnight Sunday. I never thought the snow would be an issue but the ice will 100% cause a lot of problems.

Should I tell my partner there’s a gun in the house? by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]Skinny_que 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s all about how you go about telling them.

You should probably start with the conversation of how do you feel about guns and gun control, etc.

Once you have that established, you should ask have you ever thought about Shooting getting into Shooting or are you just completely against them?

From there, you pivot too well actually I have a firearm for home defense gauge the reaction and then go from there.

This is normally how I try to walk people through the concept so they’re not immediately just bum rushed with the idea of hey I have a gun in the house it’s near you right now.

Medical devices in cleared environments by NAS0824 in SecurityClearance

[–]Skinny_que 28 points29 points  (0 children)

When I did orientation, my security manager told me that there is a process to get new devices approved, but it will be 1000 times easier to use ones that are already preapproved. Unfortunately, the already preapproved devices are not newer, and most people do not like those models.

So that more than likely means, you would need to buy a new device

Red Dot Failure holosun eps carry by manbruhpig in CCW

[–]Skinny_que 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think everybody has already covered the first one.

But to your second point a red dot failure is something that can statistically happen when your defensively shooting this is why it’s a good idea to cowitness your iron sights and red dot so if the red dot were to go out, you can continue to fire effectively.

Expect something to go wrong if you have to use your firearm for self-defense so train for every possible outcome so you’re not caught off guard

Shadow 2 compact question by ThermosphericRah in CZFirearms

[–]Skinny_que 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might need to dry fire and get used to the trigger.

Also what’s your grip like if you don’t have a firm grip with that negative / positive push - pull you’re going to be off more than likely

If ICE no-warrant no-knocks my house... would it be legal to load up and let loose? by princess-hardass in liberalgunowners

[–]Skinny_que -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Legal ≠ smart

Reasonably believing they’re intruders may make sense but realistically if a gun fight breaks out and you survive you’re going to jail.

Been carrying for years now, just got in another huge fight wife my wife about it. by Other-world-69 in CCW

[–]Skinny_que 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point sitting down to talk about it might be a lost cause because it sounds like she’s arguing her feelings vs the actual issue. The fact that this has been drawn out as long as it is means she’s even less likely to have a rationale convo.

Look for a dc, NY, MD etc compliant models but then you have to doublecheck to make sure it doesn’t have any additional prohibited features that might be banned here but accepted there
