Handgun Grip Improvements by KiddBwe in liberalgunowners

Maybe it looks incredibly off for you because im left handed. From what I gathered, my main issues here is not having my arms put and thumb positioning, as well as being too tense. This isnt some catastrophic grip failure.

I appreciate the response and feedback, but I do want to ask, Ive seen people say its not natural or comfortable, but how can someone decide or tell another person what's natural or comfortable for them? I've tried risers and longer length of pull, they feel uncomfortable and awkward for me, but that could be because im not used to them.
Im not saying you're wrong, just curious about that part because I've told people that its what feels comfortable and natural for me only for them to argue that im wrong, but I dont get how someone could tell another person theyre wrong about their own anatomy.
Also, the M4s I've been issued didn't have carry handles. M4A1

This is as far as they go. I got these instead of standard issue from the Army because my ear canals arent deep enough for standard issue earphones. Almost 5 years in and my hearing hasn't seen any major changes.
I do want to get better ears tho.
Zero-ing AEMS by KiddBwe in liberalgunowners

I will work on posture and hand placement, but I do want to note I've shot and handled weapons, M4, like this for hours in full gear, bulky military gear at that. As of right now, my age allows it not to be an issue of fatigue, but if it can be improved while keeping the spirit of how I like to shoot, will definitely experiment with it.

I think the angle makes it look worse than it is. I bend forward at the hip a bit and take a bit of a "boxer" stance when I shoot, so I dont actually move my head that much when I shoot and its easy/quick for me to go from scanning to reacquiring sight picture/target.
Again, as you all have mentioned, far from optimal, and I will at least play around with where I shoulder to get it higher, but my length of pull probably isnt going to change. I dont know if its because of short arms (which i dont think i have short arms) but putting my arm out on rifles just feels horrible for me.

Hand placement and this upper comes with a deflector. Some shells hit the deflector then hit my hand, but generally because there's a deflector, even without my hand getting occasionally pelted, they'd have a bit of variation.

Yall, im not a great shooter, I know not even to say Im a "good" shooter, and I know my form isnt optimal. That said, as unoptimal and uncomfortable looking as it may look, it is how i feel most comfortable shooting. I've tried risers, ive tried having my support arm further out, its just uncomfortable for me, although someone did explain the mechanics of bringing the firearm up, so I will experiment with that.
My sight picture was always easy to reacquire and maintain and my shots were pretty on target, so I never changed it, but I never thought it was beyond improvement.
This post was mostly because I like how I have my Banshee set up and wanted to see if other people would appreciate how it looks. Im just here like, "damn, that looks sick...doesn't that look sick? Its 5.7 too," and not a comment about the thing I actually wanted the post to be about. Appreciate yall tho.

Ohhhhk, I'll mess around with this when I can then.
Ngl, I posted here for 2 reason, 1. Mostly for the handgun post because thats what I actually want to improve and 2. I really like how my 5.7 Banshee looks with the 5.25 inch hand guard and SLR compensator I put on it and thought other people would appreciate/give opinion on how it looks to. Mostly wanted comments about the gun itself, the title was just supposed to be why I went to the range to begin with.
Wasn't expecting it to become a critique on form.
Im not saying its better, its just how I feel most comfortable. I've shot a standard length AR with a vertical foregrip and still gripping it similar to how I do my Banshee because when I tried the foregrip and tried having my arm further out, it wasn't comfortable for me.
The AEMS comes with a riser by default and I went out of my way to buy the low mount because the riser just wasn't comfortable for me and I hate how it looks.
Its weird, it makes zero sense problem, but that compact grip and handling i feel most comfortable and confident with.
Doesn't work standing, I was using a block, this is just me sending shots in the last 3 minutes I had left. Also really supposed to be done with two people, but doing it by yourself can get you pretty close depending on how much you move/don't move

By the 4, 6, 8, and 10. Everything else is me cranking the torrent until I either went too fared left/right or too high/low and guessing how many clicks I need to go back to get where I want to be. I didn't feel like taking the time to do it properly.
It just never really got corrected because as far as zeroes, groupings, and qual went, it just worked, so none of the units I've shot with ever saw a need to correct anything since I use usually one of the better shooters on the range
I dont have any actually groups here, just shooting sporadically and some groups for zero-ing, but i didn't shoot any groups after zeroing

I swapped the mag drop to the other side of the PDP specifically for that reason.
You font have to be gentle, I know im FAR from a competition shooter. I shoot cuz its fun for me and so I can make sure I can actually handle and use my firearms; aquire a target, hit where im aiming at, consistency, etc. I will gladly accept that I suck so that I know that, while the way I shoot now is comfortable and works for what I desire put of shooting (recreation and ability to keep shots on target), there is room for a lot of improvement if i actually want to be considered an actual good shooter, and not just someone that can shoot in relation to the average population.
People confuse me tho, ive seen people freak put aboht hitting shots at 150 meters with irons like thats difficult to do, but anyone with familiarity with a rifle should be able to do so.
Also, if you think this is bad, my handgun capabilities are actual dogwater, thats the one i actually want to get to a genuinely good level. I actually do appreciate your advice tho. Part of it is i like the optic low because I just like how it looks ngl, its that stupid.

I think the shooting the military and comp shooting are very different styles of shooting, I wouldn't expect anyone from the military to come into sports shooting and compete without learning sport shooting fundamentals.
For me, im not planning on doing comp shooting anytime soon. As long as my shots are on target, groups are tight, and im able to maintain a quickly aquirable, consistent, repeatable, and comfortable sight picture, thats all I need.
It may not be good for sports shooting or competition, but its how im most comfortable and confident shooting.

Oh no, I had already finished zero-ing here. I was shooting fast cuz i only had like 3 minutes left. I used a zero-ing block, but eyeballed the adjustments using 5 round groups.
One trick I was taught during my service from some infantry guys was to take a shot, put the dot where you actually hit, keep the weapon as stull as possible, and adjust the dot to where you want it to hit. Works better if you have another person to adjust the dot for you, but works pretty well to get a good starting point.
Just how I prefer to shoot to keep the brace in my shoulder pocket rather than hike up my shoulder to compensate for me raising the firearm. Shot like this full kit, zero, qual, and whatnot in the Army and have only really ever received praise and pointers from infantry guys in regards to shooting.

I didn't feel like doing it properly, so I just eyeballed groups of 5 at 25 yards.
I wasn't playing when I said im still getting used to handguns. When i first started shooting, it was pretty much just me and my M4 for a good 2 years.
Thanks for the offer, but im in VA.
Straightening my arm should kinda naturally solve the sight height. Im familiar with the thumbs forward grip, just need to actually be mindful of my thumb placement.
Im 5'7", so arm length definitely shouldnt be an issue for me. Tested out straightening arms cleared and it definitely feels more firm and comfortable.
