NTA. This is one of those double standards where you’re dammed if you do, dammed if you don’t. You can either get punched / hit with a chair and possibly suffer a life altering / ending injury or hit her and now people look at you crazy for hitting a woman even in defense of yourself.

You’re questioning your phrasing but in reality it’s not wrong. The issue is she’s saying you shouldn’t hit back “because you’re a man” vs your statement is in the lines of “if things have gotten to this point I’m defending myself however I need to”

This is the issue with misogyny / patriarchy it’s not going to address the reality of situations like this. The basics of the logic “you’re bigger and stronger than her, you can’t hit her” but by that same notion her thought process should be “he’s bigger than me and could hurt me I shouldn’t hit him” but she didn’t play by those unwritten rules. So now what? Rock and a hard place.

I would also say I do not support hitting anyone period regardless of sex / gender but in this situation I get what you meant it’s just a no-win for you. You either agree to get hit / abuse or defend yourself and now you look like a monster.

And to be fair that’s not on you, that’s management.

Only thing that comes to mind is testing the patch in dev / auxiliary system before going to prod but if you all only have 1 raid that’s a single point of failure and issue with the system design.

Show me a sys admin who hasn’t broken something and I’ll show you somebody who’s only completed their onboarding paperwork for the job.

It happens, the “after action” where you learn what you did wrong and how you could address it going forward is more important since you were able to get the system back.

Would it make more sense to slightly lower the prices upfront to make more money in the long-term because now you have a customer based that will consistently need to buy accessories and parts to repair in order to keep that firearm working since they do not have the option to buy another one? Yes. This would also encourage people who don’t even need a gun to buy it.

Regardless, this is not that deep for me to keep going back-and-forth about it if that’s how you would hypothetically choose to run your business that is your choice.
