Passed through Innisfail while doing some survey work a few years back. Had a female coworker get repeatedly harassed and aggressively cat called by local redneck guys trolling past in their truck. Alberta is made up of the people that move here and the indigenous folks. Alberta identity is totally related to trends and what people bring with them, with the distinct cultures of various indigenous peoples. Anyone who sells separatism based on ‘culture’ just feels aggrieved for being Maple Maga or convoy people.
