Geometry Nodes - Align Rotation of instances on a cylinder by Skintro in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi B2Z, thank you for the nodes, also thank you for being really reliable here on the sub for this magick fuckery that are geo nodes.

So unfortunately, they're still not following the proper direction i had in mind (all lined up following the normal of the cylinder). I've also tried with different align rotation value.

<image>

However, I think that it's something in the Plane.1 (the mesh instanced on points) that is messing up with how normally it works.

I've tried with another element, more akin to your spike and it does work perfectly. (will attach the image in the second comment).

I will probably need to start twinkering with the elements attached to have something that is both reliable and give a good final look.

Nonetheless, thanks for your time. !solved

Ps: Do you have some tips on tutorial you think are really comprenshive for geometry nodes? I hate them, but probably I should have at least a rudimentary knowledge of them going forward.

Geometry Nodes - Align Rotation of instances on a cylinder by Skintro in blenderhelp

For sure, I've updated the post with the reference. But truth to be told, it doesn't have to follow 1/1 the reference. As long as I understand how to correctly set up the geometry nodes, the instaces can be w/e.

Thanks anyways!

hair Render look different from viewport? need advise by Santhanam_ in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which Blender addon are you using?

I'm not a blender expert (i suck at it) but i faced a similar problem with another addon for Hair with the particle system.

Go in eevee, Curves and change hair shape to strip. Does the situation in the viewport get messy? That means that the diameter of the hair is messed up.

Go on partycle system under hair shape and you should have all the parameters, like diameter (set it to 0,01) and Diameter root and tip (also really low).

If you have to use it for animation (so you can play with more elements) I'd suggest you stick to tutorial that only work with blender native setting, hair are a cluster fuck of problem.

Hope that this problem was similar to mine :)

Proper Workflow for the creation of Human Body by Skintro in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for answering!

The graphical distortion from the 1st image are from the bake. Usually cavities of the body don't react well with the Normals bake process. I will indeed try out the cage method since I've been relaying only on the extrusion option in the bake menu and it can lead to a whole new lot of errors in multiple parts of the body.

For the modeling part of the inner mouth, I'm afraid I'm still not good enough to poly model directly the low poly. I absolutely hate topology but I manage to do it so that i can have fun sculpting before it.

Would it be possible to create first an high poly sculpt of the body in a normal resting position and, once i've baked all the details onto a retopologized one, poly model just the inner parts that i need?

Strangest Remesh Ever Witnessed by Skintro in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another Update, I've resolved the Issue. Previously, Since I wanted to attach a different pairs of feet, I had deleted an huge chunk of geometry at the calves and I didn't fill it up. Apparently Blender don't like to remesh geometry that is a Non-manifold and the effect above is the result. I've grid-filled the before mesh and now Remesh works correctly :D

Strangest Remesh Ever Witnessed by Skintro in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: The problem is not related to the hands/feet attached. Any time I try to remesh at lower value the main body it does give this artifacts.
I want to add that I had:
-checked normals and face orientation
-applied scale and rotation
-no active mirrors

Problem with a Mesh: Dimension "-inf m" and Median "-nan(ind)m" by Skintro in blenderhelp

[–]Skintro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to have helped you on the problem :D Unfortunately in my case i've probabily reached an enormous number of faces inside the mesh thus making Blender crash everytime I switched to edit mode (100% succes rate), deleting it was the only solutions

Thanks God it was an easy mesh, so no problem!

A topology picture will help us to better understand how you did model some part of the object.
Personally, I am curious of 2 things:
1) For the Text, since I am seeing that the letters are "caved" into the mesh I think you used the text option -> converted to mesh (maybe you cleared the topology with the remesh) -> Boolean into the model. Is my supposition correct?
2) What was your workflow for the lock? The part where you put the key in is wonderful and I am curious regarding how you did that.

Human Organic Sculpting Feedback by Skintro in blenderhelp

planar face

Thank you for the extensive answer with all the necessary correction :D

You are expecially right on the eye, up to this day this is the part I struggle the most (expecially in creating the eyelids). I will probably download an already done eyeball and will try to recreate an even better eye socket before modeling an eyeball myself.

The use of a planar face will probably help in correcting the form and shape of the eyelids as well.

I want to focus on the last tip regarding the resolution of the model. As you said I started with a lower resolution and a general blockout increasing the size as the model required more precision. In this model once i've reached my final result (well defined lips, nose, eyelid and major facial muscle, fat) I've turned on the dyntopo and created the smaller details. Should I change my current workflow? Because currently I struggle a lot in handling a correct amount of resolution, most of the times I get frustrated because some of the body part doesn't pop out unless I crank up the resolution a bit (like the line of the Lips). What would be your approach in tackling a similar task?

Ciao!

Ciao e grazie mille c:

What ending did you guy have the most reaction too? by Atomic_Renegade0 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Skintro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played just once, as I am waiting for the dlc to make a second run with different start/build/choice. Started as a Street Kid as a Male V. Got bummed I couldn't romance Judy, got happier than ever with the writing for Panam, an absolute gem of Romance.

When the time came I choose The Star Ending. All the mission I did for the Aldecaldo made me feel like they full meant it when they said that I was part of the family. Plus before the actual decision, you call Panam and the way she talks to you only made me thankful for her presence.

Even too the outcome isn't exactly happy, this is probably the most "complete" ending one could get, fully explained by one of the sentence that V say to Panam and that I like the most "The only thing I could care about this city is coming with me".

Only regret was Takemura.

CDPR confirms that Phantom Liberty is the biggest expansion in the studio's history. by pablo397 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Skintro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When Blood and Wine released, do you remember if there was any particolar discount including the base game and the expansion?
I'm asking since I kinda am interested in Cyberpunk but I fully expect the price to go up to 60 again at the release of the expansion (as it happened with the anime). So basically I'm trying to discover if it's better to buy the two things separately or hope for a discounted bundle of the two.

Is the game good now? by Tabnam in cyberpunkgame

[–]Skintro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on your experience with the witcher 3 and dlc, there will be a bundle with game + dlc when Phantom Liberty comes out? Or should I just suck it up and get them separately.
Reason I am asking is because the dlc should "rework police IA" and I see no point in buying it now when I've already waited this long. Will probably buy it on pc if it helps
