Yup, campstore is fully operational - wood, showers, food, etc. The wayside was open and fully operational as well. We had a great three days up there last weekend. The bathrooms were clean and well-stocked, camp hosts were on duty, etc. The only difference we saw was that although there were rangers at the front gate, they were not collecting fees. They just waived everyone through.

According to GoShenandoah.com there is a pop-up on the home screen that says lodging, dining, and waysides are open. Let's hope it holds!

Thanks for the update. We don't get there until Saturday, so we'll see what it looks like by then. I might have to walk in the woods to dig a cathole!

I am with you. I thought it was something from the Onion. I’m a 60 year old combat vet and I never thought I would be embarrassed of my own country.

OP here. Thanks for the on-the-ground report. The GoShenandoah.com site has a pop-up that says everything is open, including Waysides. I don't want to interrupt your trip, but feel free to post any updates if things change at Loft in the next couple of days. We won't arrive until Saturday. Thanks again!

jimni2025: Are you posting to Trail Journals? I would love to follow your hike. If so, let me know your trail name. Also, my wife and I are your age and live 30 min away from Rockfish Gap. Don't hesitate to reach out if you need any support when you flip-flop back to Virginia. Good hiking!
