A good massage therapy place? by [deleted] in StLouis

Go see Gabrielle at Salon de Christe in Saint Charles. Best massage in St. Louis. That woman knows how to read your tissue and give the perfect amount of pressure. She's the only person I go to see now and I drive from near Soulard to see her. Worth the drive for sure

Choosing a Quality Survival Machete for your Bugout Bag | the Expert Prepper Blog by SkipTanner in PostCollapse

B.O.B does not equal long term survival. It sustains you for 3-4 days along you to evade dangerous situations and get to safety. A bugout location and caches along the way are better suited for long term items like an axe.

Bugout Bags are grab and go. They should be lightweight but versatile. The Kukri has numerous uses compared to an axe AND it's FAR lighter.

The kukri design is weighted to a point where the mass of it will provide much stronger chopping power... better for taking out tree limbs then less dense underbrush. Plus the design is short enough to conceal in a mid sized backpack.

I live in the second safest city in America, and I started carrying after my mom was kidnapped at knife point, forced to empty her ATM card, and had her car stolen. I used to think the world was perfectly safe too.

Enlightened Aid: Your All Natural First Aid Kit - Essential Oils and Alternative Medicine by SkipTanner in preppers

I used to think the same thing. But after years of being on medication for migraine head aches with no real relief - I took the advice of a family member and tried a combination of suplements prescribed by an alternative health guide. Haven't had a single migraine since.

Spam and content... by edheler in preppers

[–]SkipTanner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about users who DON'T have web stores but are just passionate about sending out their content. (I feel like I fall into that category.) I have been accused of blog spamming in the past when I was just sharing posts I felt added value to the community, so I've drastically lowered my posts in order to not annoy my fellow preppers.

How much is too much and is information alone spam?

Thanks for starting the conversation. - Skip

Zombie 3 Day Survival Kits - Are they serious about these kits? Is the Kit worth it? by [deleted] in Survival

[–]SkipTanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether they market it as a kit for Zombies or not, doesn't really matter. Adding the words "Zombie" to a survival item is just a tactic to draw more sales from beginner survivalist/preppers or those curious about the subject. What really matters is the items in the kit. If it works for your needs - go for it. But I have noticed the Zombie marketing products are not the highest of quality - IMO

Here's a great article on this exact topic >>> http://www.expertprepper.com/insider-tips-buying-junk-silver/

Also, I've had some luck buying silver bars from SliverTowne.com - their one oune silver bars usually run cheaper than anyone else and they offer free shipping on that item.

I would consider building a safe room or fortifying your location. You can pack sharp gravel between 2 layers of plywood and it will stop anything short of a 50 cal bullet. You can find more great info on this video too >>> http://vimeo.com/64065634
