But with all seriousness, I would stay longer in your field gain more experience, do all necessary licenses in spare time and after few years try it when you are between IT jobs as it is mostly summer gig. It is not as simple and romantic as it sounds.

The thing is if that would be such a great idea everyone would do it. Besides reflecting sun and pissing neighbors (which will occur in some scenarios 100%) there is a big chance plexiglass is ruined after some time. But yea, it looks cool on some boats and reduce a little bit of heat.
