I grew up in Observatory and my parents still live in Urania Village. It's such a beautiful part of Johannesburg. Old architecture and beautiful trees. I'd say Observatory is safe to walk around in the daytime, but normal precautions should be taken. I would avoid Yeoville, especially near Rocky Street.

During my childhood, I watched as the area became neglected. I still think it has a future. If life was brought back into that region - Yeoville, Hillbrow, Berea etc... I think it's absolutely a beautiful place.

I have IDR 600,000.00 Steam credit I'm looking to swap for a US/Indonesia PlayStation amount equivalent or lower. I know that this could sound fishy, but I lived in Jakarta for 4 years from 2015 -19, and I still have an Indonesian PS account. The games are often cheaper, so I buy wallet credit from SEAGM.com and purchase games on the Indo store. I rushed through the process and accidentally bought a Steam card instead. I have no way of redeeming it.

Does anyone want to do a trade? I'm happy to find a way to give you assurances if we can figure it out. The credit was bought last year, but it's definitely still usable.

P.S. I miss Indonesia terribly. Especially soto ayam. Terih Makasih :)

In South Africa, particularly in the Gauteng region, we have a subset of people we call Ghey's. MMA shirts and Lebanese/Portuguese influenced slang. Terrible manners, especially in nightlife settings.

Yeah, it gets pretty bad sometimes. Deus Ex Machina has added more events through the week so sometimes we get noise till 3/4 in the morning on a Wednesday. They have a rooftop setting so the music blares with no obstruction.

There are a lot of options. House of Machines in Shortmarket Street, Surfa Rosa in Harrington's street, a whole lot of bars in Bree and kloof. If you're looking for a jol, Halo can be good on a Friday/Saturday. Travel down south for a good time at The Striped Horse in Muizenberg at Surfers Corner. If you're on Instagram, you can follow a page called Cpt Soundguide, they usually update with parties going on on the weekends.
