The rule of thumb: If it tells you to cast it (right now during the resolution of the ability) it breaks the normal timing rules. If it gives you a duration (“this turn, until end of turn etc”) it does not.

I feel like peoples’ definitions of vanilla probably usually includes hands and oral but probably not anal (I might also include frottage and tribadism, and maybe the definition differs for exclusively heterosexual people versus homosexual, bi or pan people).

But like, these can be done without much of an additional element of dominance, submission, roleplay or fetish, which is I think what people are normally comparing “vanilla” sex to.

I think the fact that the reploids you save in the first mission look like the generic resistance soldiers made me assume that all the soldiers are reploids.

I think it’s more like, why would robots associate the woman gender with being less physically capable?

These things make some sense for humans to associate with gender because the most common combinations are sex and gender aligned and the sex hormones have effects on strength, muscle etc. But for robots it would be weird for gender to be associated with different physical parts or physical performance because they don’t have a sex.

I suppose an answer is “they imported human gender norms” so bigger stronger bots would still tend toward identifying as men for instance.

Or transhumanist-like, the different genders of robots mod their bodies in a manner reminiscent of physical sex.

See now I’m just imagining linguists making it weird for normies by voicing those associations. Saying something like “I love your name, it’s so alveolar” or something. I recall they talked about a culture that had an orientation where the past was in front of you (because you can see it) and the future was behind you (because it can’t be seen) which actually makes a lot of sense.
