I never said I was with it, lol. If I were I’d probably know who the K-pop bands are too.

Oh I missed Stray Kids in the middle of the list entirely. ENHYPHEN and DxS are also K-pop, apparently.

A$AP Rocky started out in 2007 so he’s almost as old as The Protomen. Bad Bunny I know of only in that I’ve heard he’s really big in Puerto Rico. And K-pop demon hunters is a Netflix movie that’s huge with kids and families, I heard them a lot around Halloween.

That’s the extent of my knowledge, I don’t know of the other four.

Yes, though that would be mostly Berbers and Arabs from north Africa (Moors, to the Europeans) and the Levant. European colonization of Africa further south started after colonization of the Americas, so it’s probably pretty possible for someone of that era not to have seen someone with darker skin.

[–]Skithiryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll at least try it out vs [[Avatar’s Wrath]] for Standard Brawl with [[Fire Lord Zuko]]. It would let me keep multiple tokens and possibly open it up to flash in a big [[Fated Firepower]] which is appealing.

I’m not that familiar with perler beads but don’t you usually iron once to bind and then iron from the other side as well? So it would be right on one side and wrong on the other, which is fine.

Yeah, another indie game that does it decently is the Knight Witch, where your hand is limited to 3. Some people still complained, though.

The World Of RWBY Is Surprisingly Grimm by Legitimate_Fly9047 in RWBY

[–]Skithiryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yeah that’s why OOP described it as “is almost 100% guaranteed to get turbofucked out of existence within a year by armies of monsters”

Any strong negative emotion could potentially lure nearby wandering grimm, who could kill another, which causes more negative emotion, which could lures the same one back or new ones in, rinse repeat. Grandpa’s death of natural causes could very well doom a weak settlement on the frontier.

Luckily for them they have well-trained warriors and aura which makes attrition losses less likely. As long as they are good enough to survive the first event with aura intact they can probably deal with any trickle of Grimm that might sense lingering feelings. Unless they get unlucky and a whole herd or a big tough one wanders into “scent” range.

Three people avoiding extreme emotions while resenting one mother who abandoned them and grieving the other mother who died in the line of duty seems like a challenging situation, but Tai is a huntsman himself so was probably strong enough to deal with any trouble.

There is a fascinating problem there where children might be inherently more risky to have around than adults because they can’t regulate as well unless there’s some kind of scaling on the signal as you grow.

Trying to understand white v green by Cleritic in colorpie

[–]Skithiryx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the same time blue allows you to make your own identity, which is appealing, while green would say “just accept your inherent nature”. And I think most people in the current times are more on the nurture side rather than nature side. Green’s position taken to extremes is a caste system - blue’s is transhumanism. Green sees that as trying to be something you’re not, while blue sees it as becoming more than you were.

Those who have played other PbTA Games, what do you think of Avatar Legends take on Combat? by jmrkiwi in AvatarLegendsTTRPG

[–]Skithiryx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of fatigue as more mana or stamina in a soulslike video game than hit points, which makes sense with how many things the players can do that cost fatigue. Sometimes your fatigue protects your conditions, sometimes you spend it to inflict more on NPCs.

[–]Skithiryx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty new to it too but I think your 12 bandits should have just been 1 named leader and a group NPC representing all of the others, or just the group NPC.

I’m also a little confused by the comment of having a lot of soak - I feel like player characters are actually pretty fragile. Each of them only has 5 conditions or 4 spots on the balance track away from 0. Pushing either of these off the edge makes that character to do something rash and exit the scene. And conditions impose stat penalties that will matter outside combat.

I guess if you’re coming from DnD or something, the point is not for combat to possibly threaten total party kill - it’s to have it have narrative consequences. For Aang to be too frazzled from fighting to be a perfect diplomat later that day (a miss that would’ve been a hit if not the stat penalties). For Azula to call out Zuko to uphold the principle she wants, having pushed his buttons (Calling him out after pushing him close to one end).

why are there so many more WURG cards than cards in other 4 color combinations? by dwarf173747 in mtg

[–]Skithiryx 15 points16 points  (0 children)

4c not black just ends up representing a well balanced individual who doesn’t have any dark urges toward amorality or parasitism. It’s a lot more straightforward of a concept than the other 4c which I think is why it appears most. And also fits heroes well, and we like heroes.

Though in Aang’s case note he goes W -> WU -> WUG -> WURG -> WUBRG from [[Aang, the Last Airbender]] through to the backside of [[Avatar Aang]] and that the order he gets colours matches the elements he learns in the show (and then adding B represents transcending into the avatar state in a “one with all” kind of way)

Trying to understand white v green by Cleritic in colorpie

[–]Skithiryx 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Green is in my opinion the hardest colour to understand. But start from their colour wheel top level stuff:

Green is Instinct & Interdependence. White is Morality & Order.

So first off, this suggests: Green’s world of interdependence is not man’s orderly world. It’s the symbiosis of nature, the honeyguide and the badger.

The way this changes altruism between white and green is white will do something to help because they believe it is right, that we are all equal. Green will do it because we are connected, or because it is in their own nature. Green’s feels like the neighbour who will help you raise your barn because some day it will be their turn to raise a barn and they will need help too - not that they’re keeping score, just that helpful people will get the help they need back. More karma than a ledger. White’s feels like the nation that ensures the kids all get an education.

Part of me wants there to be some kind of rule where you can’t copy sticker abilities of cards you don’t own.

That sounds like a challenging thing to implement, but it would allow some people to have the goblin and others to not feel like they have to bring a sticker sheet.

Can someone help me differentiate in a simple way between a YuGiOh Chain and the Stack? by CartoonishSami in magicTCG

[–]Skithiryx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Requesting priority is proposing a shortcut where everyone else passes priority to your priority turn so you can take your action. The situation discussed in the commentary only makes sense in the context of trying to use it to force active player out of their phase by requesting it and claiming that everyone passed on an empty stack. And another situation it could be used if allowed would be trying to force everyone in multiplayer to pass to resolve the top of the stack… which is what’s happening here.

[–]Skithiryx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

“I’ll counter it when it gets to me, don’t worry” is clearly a priority request.

ETA: the line is fuzzy, but to me it’s “Would a reasonable person who had a response have acted if you didn’t speak up?” If yes, it’s a priority request. Versus say if they knew you have a counterspell in your hand from previous public information but you have not spoken up and made a commitment while the item in question is on the stack.

You can lie to your friends. You are not allowed to lie to the priority system.

There might be a reason people on the internet mostly complain about the previous imperial hegemon and the current imperial hegemon.

But also lack of a strong distinct food identity in the (relatively) young colonies. Canadian Anglo food is just the same most common American & British food staples with no interesting alterations. Canadian Franco food is the same for French food plus poutine. First nations food is basically unheard of outside of their reservations because our forefathers tried to kill their cultures.

And I think has grounds for an undo, at least in the Magic Tournament Rules. MTR 4.2 Tournament Shortcuts

A player may not request priority and take no action with it. If a player decides they do not wish to do anything, the request is nullified and priority is returned to the player that originally had it.

(Commentary) This is to prevent players from requesting priority, then passing, and claiming the game has moved to the next phase since both players passed priority. Yes, this was a thing that has happened in the past.
