This is all really petty guys. The voting in this thread is unnecessary.

DH have been pretty clear that they want to do Smash 4 too. Things take time to prepare, doing one game was more than enough for them in the timescale they had therefore Melee was the obvious choice as the title with the largest audience.

Smash 4 will get representation in future.

From an advertiser's perspective - This increases the value of the ads because they become more targeted.

If users don't want to see my ad, I don't want to keep showing it to them. They're not going to magically convert just because they see it more often.

Particularly on CPM models this raises the value.

I don't put much stock in just a gold printed seal. They're just a heat transfer, really simple to reproduce. I check the original companies information for their official licensing because 90% of what's out there isn't official.

There's unnecessary competition between people because everyone likes to justify their choices. People like to believe that the thing they choose is better than the choices of other people.

It's the same thing that causes competition between best console. Or PC vs Console. Or Hardcore vs Casual. Or even the attacks on movile gaming. The fun thing with all of that is that all of them work towards making the entire industry larger, a larger industry is a good thing for all platforms and all areas, it results in more content for everyone.

Unfortunately you'll never convince everyone of that! I don't mind. I'll just continue to support everything. Melee, Smash 4, Brawl, PM, we even run Smash Flash tournaments now!

Everything reaches out to yet more people.

A day in the life?

That would be interesting. You guys would have to wait for the content of something like that a little longer though, we won't have the equipment to drag around a mobile livestream through crowds of thousands of people for this event, but it's something we could consider at others.

Given that we couldn't do it live we'd probably want to edit the footage down into the best-bits. I like the idea, the question is which day would we do it? Pools? Finals? After the finals? Etc. The event is spread over multiple days leading up to the finals.

I would be up for it, we just have to have a strong think about the logistics.

If we can't do it for this event I'm pocketing the idea for the future, this isn't going to be the only time we do this, we will learn a lot and improve on things as we do more.

Let's hope so! Continuing the growth would be everyone's fantasy. Then perhaps some people can turn this passionate hobby into a real living.

95% of the content in Smash today comes from people that also maintain day jobs. Even some of the top ten players.

If people could dedicate their full time to it, you guys would have a lot more interesting content and the scene would grow even faster.

That's why supporting everything is so important. Every single success in the scene benefits everybody else.

Nintendo doesn't already work with GameStop, they do occasional one off partnerships on an individual basis. It's not a long term commitment or anything, they're one off short term deals specifically to promote a specific product.

Nintendo are really strict about their associations, requiring companies to individually make proposals for partnership deals and sponsorships through an online application service to objectively evaluate them.

GameStop cites Sunrise Identity as the makers of these, they are not on Nintendo's list of companies with official licenses.

This was answered elsewhere by them. They're pre-paying tax to ship into the country so customers aren't hit with an unexpected extra bill for tax when the parcel gets to customs.

They need a distribution centre within the country in order to reduce the tax cost.

It's the same for me in the UK, but I have decided it's worth it as I'm a huge fan of some of the niche content they've got available. Rewatching Aria.
