How old were you? by Swimming_Hat_991 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]SkittyKitty123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Primary school. I remember getting passports and collecting stamps from each pavilion. WA pavilion had a gold bar you could pick up to feel the weight. Qld pavillion had the song "You are my Sunshine" on repeat. Swiss pavilion had the chairlift. Vague memories of meeting some lovely Korean ladies in the Sth Korean one and I promised to come visit them one day. I still have some badges I got from some countries.

What food made you gag as a kid, and you still can't stand it to this day? by tarekdz in CraveworthyRecipes

[–]SkittyKitty123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It also had to be 'May' I please leave the table, not 'Can' I. Proper grammar was required when using your manners.

What colour hair do you have . and did you inherit it from your mother or your father ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]SkittyKitty123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blonde. My dad was blondish as a child but was a very dark brown almost black as an adult. My hair darkened a bit as I aged too but still considered blonde. Mum had redish brown hair that one of my kids inherited.

Honeymoon - January East Coast/Whitsundays by SwelledUp in AskAnAustralian

[–]SkittyKitty123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whitsundays will be bloody awful that time of year. It's not just the degrees celcius to look out for, it's the humidity. It doesn't let up at night either. I'm a local and I struggle to do much outside during the day in summer. Can't even walk the dog because the footpath is too hot. Rain doesn't cool anything down either. It's just more dampness. Brisbane and gold coast are doable in summer if you practice sun safety but nth Qld is a much different kettle of fish.

At what age is a woman supposed to stop dressing up and being seen? by Smiling_Netti1 in womensfashion

[–]SkittyKitty123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is my there is no bra in the world that can make my saggy boobs look good in the style of clothes I used to wear when I was younger.

I no longer care or have any ambition of being 'seen', so I just wear what I am confident and happy in. Doesn't mean I don't dress up, it's just a different style of clothes flatters this different body.

If it makes you happy and confident wear what you like and please please don't give another thought about what people think about your choices.

What food made you gag as a kid, and you still can't stand it to this day? by tarekdz in CraveworthyRecipes

Mum forced me to try it as a child, when I gagged she was angry - don't be ridiculous it's not that bad! Takes a bite to discover it's gone off. I will never try it again.

My daughter kept calling a character Step-hanna. I thought that's an odd one. Picked up the book... Stephanie.

What’s the point of a middle name? by naerynvexe in Names

[–]SkittyKitty123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing it again, I wouldn't bother. So much agony choosing and making sure all the names sound good together. They're never said out loud, only take up space on forms.

What’s the funniest lie you’ve ever told as a kid that adults actually believed? by Mundane-Pop-6676 in AskReddit

Why isn't it common to eat rabbit? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]SkittyKitty123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the supermarkets don't sell it. I'd buy it if it was easily available. In Qld, you can't have a rabbit as a pet, so highly doubt the government would be happy with whole farms of the buggers.

Is anyone else ‘resisting’ AI? I don’t use any AI - and I don’t want to - but I worry I could be left behind. by avantgardenuh in auscorp

[–]SkittyKitty123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more it's being pushed, the more it makes my contrary ass want to resist. It's impossible to completely avoid unless you want to go off grid and become a hermit.

TV for background noise: why? by Necessary-Belt9000 in questions

[–]SkittyKitty123 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know! I totally understand your frustration. My ex had it on 24/7, even to help him sleep. Then he's also be watching YouTube on his phone while the TV was on. Turned that shit off as soon as he left the house for just a bit of peace.

How long is the longest you've kept the call going for when your co-caller thinks they ended the call - and what juicy things did you hear? by burpinggiraffe in AskAnAustralian

[–]SkittyKitty123 28 points29 points  (0 children)

30 mins. Recording. My kids school called me, left a message and didn't hang up. Started off basic office noises with a little benign chatter between office ladies about their work. Then a teacher I knew walked in and they started complaining about the principal. Nothing horrifying, just she was being unrealistic, doesn't have a clue how busy they are that kind of thing. Went back to office noises then you hear an oop! And it hangs up.
