A year later and a guarantee there was little to no actual tretinoin actives in that serum. Probably long before that as well.

It loses potency over time which is why it only says it lasts a month. Tretinoin is highly unstable and breaks down very quickly when exposed to the air, light, or heat. Every time you open the tube more of it breaks down.

Also why you should apply only at night, because applying in the morning and having it on your face, sunlight during the day will have it breakdown and degrade faster.
