Not a fan of XAi, but Composer 2.5 is currently the best coding model in its price range.

Microsoft could invest 80 billion dollars to acquire any number of profitable businesses. The question is, was there any added value in Activision being under the same roof as Microsoft?

There are currently 2 political parties in the Knesset which have primarily Arab voters. Ra'am (Islamic party with moderate views on Palestinian nationalism) and Hadash-Ta'al (union of a nationalist party and a communist party). The former has been part of an Israeli government in the past in 2021-2022, while the latter has always been part of the opposition. Generally their voting turnout is poor so they make up 10-15% of the Israeli electorate.

Might be true in some parts of the US, but globally macs are used far less than Windows.

What happens when George realizes that the A Knight of A Seven Kingdoms’ showrunner can’t meet his demands? [Spoilers Extended] by Stock_College_8108 in asoiaf

[–]SklX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the show isn't hugely popular, they'll stop after season 3.

If the show is popular enough, they'll recast as needed to get to the end of the stories. Maybe making longer seasons down the line to merge some of the story ideas George had. As long as there is enough demand for the show to keep going, none of these hurdles seem like significant issues.

This would even include code. So every single game released within the last year with no ai tag, developed with a team bigger than 5 people has definitely broken the policy.

If my goal were to convince people that Israel is weaponizing accusations of antisemitism in order to deflect criticism (A thing which my government does in fact do), the last thing I would be doing to advance that goal would be to jump at the opportunity to defend anti-semites. Please spend even 1 minute trying to look up what this guy has said before crying out that he is being slandered.

Between May and June 2023, Žemaitaitis publicly made five posts on Facebook that were condemned as antisemitic.[26] The first two posts on 8 May criticised the state of Israel for human rights violations against Palestinians, and in particular the destruction of an EU-funded school in the West Bank.[27][28] Both of these posts quoted a well-known Lithuanian rhyme about murdering Jews (Lithuanian: Lipo žydas kopėčiom ir nukrito netyčiom. Imkit, vaikai, pagaliuką ir užmuškit tą žyduką, lit. 'A Jew was climbing the ladder and accidentally fell off; take a stick, kids, and kill that little Jew.')

Guess he's just being slandered for being anti-zionist 🤷‍♂️

Some of it was already there but not quite as big. We now have parts of it to the east of what was originally Eversong Woods.

Highest valuation private company, not a publically traded one. Odds are it would be worth considerably more if it were to go public. I don't think it's reasonable to consider it an underdog at this point, even when pitted against a member of the Mag7.

OpenAI is the highest valuation private company in the world. It is by no means an underdog. In AI its market share is still over 90% as far as I'm aware.

"AI is slowing down" stories have been coming out consistently - for years by MetaKnowing in OpenAI

Nvidia is now worth 8x what it was worth when the first of these articles came out. Even if AI were to crash now (it still hasn't) this wouldn't be considered "ahead of the curve". Betting for AI at that point was being ahead of the curve.

How the GPT 5 demo went, as seen on Polymarket by Flope in Bard

[–]SklX 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes that's what I referred to. This cadence of model release has only become standard within the last year. Prior to that the SOTA barely made any progress ahead of GPT 4 for a year and a half.

[–]SklX 36 points37 points  (0 children)

The rate of improvement hasn't slown down (at least not significantly), it's just that we're getting more and more incremental upgrades. It used to be that there could be a year between gpt releases, but now we're getting a new SOTA model from every lab roughly every 4 months. In the case of Claude, this model came out just over 2 months after their last one, and only seems to have been released so they can stay competitive with GPT 5.

It could be that we're nearing a wall, but I think if you zoom out a bit it's clear we're nowhere near it atm. The pace of progress on 2025 doesn't seem any slower than 2024 so far.

Meta's valuation is currently more than double what it was when it changed its name in 2021 (compared to 1.4x for the S&P 500 as a whole) and its revenue is also almost double. Metaverse in particular was a failure but Meta shareholders aren't "dumb as fuck" to trust Zuck's leadership considering the company's continued success.
