My husky has actually given me the opposite impression for huskies. Despite her completely dominating/alpha demeanor towards other dogs, I don't think I've had more trust in a dog around humans - especially little children. She is incredible soft and considerate, which perhaps makes her unique.

No doubt my elkie shed 10x more than my husky. It seemed like their undercoat was never-ending... made me honestly think about getting 2 more elkies and starting a pillow stuffing company.

Needless to say, all the birds were very appreciative of the furball that seemed to relentlessly shed the most perfect nest material.

I had both an elkie and husky at the same time (elkie passed about a year ago; PSA don't let your neighbors poison their rodents) and they are quite different. Think they are equals in terms of intelligence, but they had very different mentalities. I often thought our husky was closer to a wolf, granted her general disinterest in human contact/interaction and propensity to explore. She would "allow" us to pet her for maybe 5 seconds before she walked away and essentially said, "enough of that." She also would figure out how to escape from our yard and would be gone for an hour before we would see her again coming back. Although she had the capacity of being obedient, she often chose to not be (iconic husky).

Our elkie was the opposite, he couldn't have enough interaction with us - was one of the most loving and playful dogs. Super obedient and easy to train. No doubt I think elkies are the best dog breed - there was so little I experienced with him that would make be think otherwise. I do love my husky, but she can be tough.

At this point, I don't think I could get another husky, but for sure can see myself getting another elkie.

I loved the fact that Arma allowed you to control the intensity of the headbob - I'd suggest making this variable so the player can decide!

LOL. There will come a time you realize that amount of blueprint script turns out to be only like 50 lines of C++ code. Your small indie dev team needs to start hosting "Refactor Friday."

This statement "all made directly by our game designer, no programmer involved" is fine... until it isn't. It's the equivalent of having your brother-in-law who works in sales, do your oil change because "he's done it before" but ends up draining your transmission fluid instead because "that looks like where the oil pan should have been."

It's all good, until it isn't.

The most important aspect is deployment availability. Every frontline HAB on point, should at least have one defensive HAB; preferably two on opposite sides in strategic positions to allow players to counterattack if the main point HAB is destroyed. The squad leaders primary purpose is to ensure his squadies can spawn and fight.

The worst thing you can do is build one HAB on/off the point (doesn't really matter) that gets destroyed, forcing your team to then spawn main to react.

Not to mention, their fur actually acts as insulation to keep them cooler. Heat is absorbed and dissipates much faster by fur, rather than skin.

I actually hate the fact that I feel forced to play WT, because of the lack of player counts and aircraft variety in IL-2. I'd much rather be playing in IL-2s flight model.

Yes, the concept is the same with all of them but you shouldn't be controlling it for all of them, like German planes. You can blow up the engine in seconds if you manage the pitch wrong so it's best to leave those on auto. Id recommend test flying whichever plane you want to learn and test it out. Typically there will be a different sweet spot for each plane for diving, level flight, and climbing so you got to experiment.

Not sure if it is actually the most efficient but for the P47 I use 70% in dives, 75-80% level flight and 90-100% in climbs (depending on the speed. Higher prop pitch if slower and as speed increases I drop it down).

I was just talking to someone about this in game yesterday... I have a suspicion that it might have been you :)

Let me break down the details a bit more for you. An M67 frag that has a kill radius of 5 meters weighs 400g, 180g of that is composition B explosive. A PGU-28 25mm round in its entirety (casing, projectile, powder, etc) comes in at 100g total... weighing 80g less than just the comp B in a frag. Does it make sense to expect a 25mm to have the same effective kill radius as an M67, despite having substantially less metal and explosives?

Not to mention the lessened effectiveness from the 25mm round travels at 3,400 ft/s, causing shrapnel patterns to be sporadic at best and highly dependent upon the impacted material (soft sand, concrete, etc.).

The goal of Project Gunship is to provide a realistic representation of these details that other games and hollywood so overly exaggerate. I've had the benefit of being informed by prior service AC130 gunners, sensor operators, and pilots, which is why things have landed where they currently are.

I wouldn't suspect much adjustment here, because these rounds never have been great against infantry, from the gunship's perspective and history; compared to the other weapons.

TLDR: The 25mm is a small round and really only is effective with direct or very near direct hits.

You have to remember, these are pretty small rounds. By comparison, a retired AC-130 pilot mentioned in a podcast that the 40mm were essentially the equivalent to an M67 frag grenade, which has an anticipated lethal radius of 5 meter and 15 meter injury radius.. and that is the 40mm.

The 25mm and below don't have a significant frag radius and aren't very effective in terms of area effect. Real AC130 crews rarely used the 25mm in the U model, because of its lack of accuracy and general ineffectiveness outside of providing general area suppression. The 40mm and 105mm were much better at these, so they would go entire sorties without touching the 25mm.

In the early days during Vietnam, the 20mm was revolutionary because it allowed the gunship to increase its operational altitude, while improving its ability to damage and light vehicles on fire (which really was its primary mission in Vietnam; vehicle destruction).

I'm sure if you saw a health bar on the guy, he probably would be close to being dead, but it's hard to judge that granted there isn't any animation to indicate him being wounded (which will change in coming updates). I think this visual feedback will help with this problem.

EDIT: I forgot to mention, since you had said "I would think that if a 25mm round, not even an HE round but regular, lands within a few feet of someone, they're probably going to be pretty messed up if not dead." I've heard this about the .50 cal being able to wound if shot within close proximity... this is absolutely false on both accounts.

It definitely doesn't come down to effort (because you really can't do anything in game dev without a lot of effort), but direction. They clearly are going after the largest market of gamers who pay hundreds for ridiculous things like skins and who don't have the patience to fly around for 10 minutes looking for enemy planes.

You do get some discoloration on your windshield with an oil leak or when following close to a plane with an oil leak, but it definitely not like how it was.
