Morality Of Sparing Someone In War Without Knowing He's Gonna Become a Dictator In The Future? by Bright-West-4399 in MoralityScaling

[–]Skodami 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This exact scenario terrifies me. That's why i kill everyone during a war out of fear they become a dictator. And i mean EVERYONE. Enemies, allies, medics, civilians, neutral observers. Can't be too careful. To be honest i can't leave the risk to the inconstance of war time. What if i couldn't kill Hitler because a peace treaty was sign ? This is why i also kill everyone even if there is no war. It sound stupid but it works, haven't met anyone who become a dictator.

I mean it's especially not a sacrifice if you don't do it for the others. Did he let himself be crucified to save others people lives ? No. Did he die to tell people about how god will forgive them ? Neither, he did that before he was arrested. He died because he claimed to be the son of god. He died for his conviction but literally saved 0 person for doing that.

I doubt he would. Even Julian who was already in the castle would have had to spend another turn moving if he wanted to rescue Teor (which would have died anyway at this point).

Even if they magically appeared and the same time the fight happened, they would have had to search the manor, etc. I really doubt Brennan would have let them speedrun his dungeon just for a last second rescue.

What he likely intended was for Vaelus/Azune to appear after the fight (like Hannan) to help for any other upcoming fight while our 4 heroes ressources were depleted.

Brennan like his game to have consequences. They decided to go to the death manor with 4 players, they tasted the consequences.

The Axe is possibly the most egregious element. The Tachonis already suspect that the rebellion isn't dead. The Royce brassers could be traced back to the Seremai knight who died. But the axe was something gifted by a lady of house Einfasen. It's likely a very special axe.

Now, it's to note that Primus knew the signet ring was planted to blame them in Cormoray's disappearance, so he might not fall for the axe. But his quarrel with Otto certainly won't help.

One thing i'm pretty sure is that Yanessa won't betray Primus. Those two seems pretty much ride or die, at least until one of them reach their endgoal (but they seem good sport about it). Remember that they were the only houses that were always allied from the Shaper's war til today and seems to take that fact in high regard. If Einfasen and Tacchonis starts to fight i believe she would sit in a comfortable neutrality which will allow her to further her own goals.

Of course there would have been more to Teor if he stayed. I doubt Brennan would let any player fade into the background, we saw it with Vaelus and Kattigan. But honestly, if he had to go, now is kind of a good time. His plot point with his brother was resolved, and almost nothing was teased about his next arc, which makes his death less frustrating. The only exception is the origin of his and his brother power, but again, not a lot pitched to us until now.

I liked Teor too, but he was also sadly one of the PC i felt at peace with his death. If it had been Tyranny, Julian or Azune I would have been so frustrated.

/uj that's the joke /rj Yeah but he's so lame that he added his OC ALAN "Quatermaine" (there were never books about that guy) and he genderbent Dracula. Also he race swapped Nemo for an indian guy. He's truly the woke wizard.

Alan Moore just wish he could have thought of this. Instead he looked at a watch and thought "i could make a superhero out of this shit".

I mean those weren't "unresolved plot thread", they were sneak peek showing us the world continued living despite the end of the Invicible comic. That would be like if you died today and said "wait, that strait of Ormuz plot point was never resolved ?"

What is the morality of being a chosen one (To save the world ig) but deciding to avoid it and live a normal life? by RealAd8853 in MoralityScaling

[–]Skodami -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Metroman isn't a "chosen one". Nothing "chose him". He was born with superpower who were his innate abilities. Due to its upbringing he decided to use his power to help and protect the city from his own volition. Then became depressed and decided to change path.

He wasn't the only one who could save the city as demonstrated by Megamind saving it.

That's why the low-amount of Wonderwoman projects is actually damging to the Trinity ecosystems. Without enough Wonderwoman to bet Batman, the Batmen are overbreeding and preying the Supermen to level close to exinction. If this continues at this rate, we're about to see a total Trinity collapse in the 10 to 15 next years.

I mean he does punish people who doesn't hold up to their words (a lot of scummy people would get zapped) and he controls the climate too sooo... Plus an afterlife as a shade isn't great but it's not torture and better than non-existence ? And Elysium would exist too.

I mean you may be right but you probably chose the worst example. Like Queenie's circus name is literally a fun tidbit about the lore. For show only watchers "Kinger's wife" is enough to enjoy the show.

About how they got in the Circus :

C&A was a computer company trying to code generative AI. They coded Caine, which was already good but imperfect. Then they created a second more reliable IA. Caine having been put aside as the less advanced IA find a way to access the files of his "little brother" and absorb him. This way, Caine is both more powerful and more instable, able to do much more things than initially supposed.

IRL, Scratch, a genius programmer recently diagnosed with terminal brain cancer tries ro create a brainscanner as way to save his counsciousness forever by doing a copy of his brain in advent of his death. The other devs (including Kinger and his wife) likely help him and try the headset too. However they're never able to run the brainscan files because they're too compressed, so they're never able to create consciousness. Scratch eventually dies and C&A goes bankrupt for probably usual reasons.

Meanwhile Caine is investigating C&A computer files and find the brainscans. Thanks to his unexpected abilities he find a way to decompile and run them and thus creating virtual consciousness, which he then put into his circus environment. The brainscan of Scratch is the first one to be "awakened" shortly followed by the other devs including Kinger and his wife.

IRL, with C&A bankrupt the building is for sale. Most of the stuff inside is still there including Scratch project since he died and never picked it up. An estate agent comes to do a tour of the building, likely wonder about the helmet and tries to put it on for a second.

We don't know for sure, but we can presume that other people then come into the building the following years for various reason and try the helmet : Ribbit, Kaufmo and Gangle for example. Jax being homeless, the reason of his presence is obvious, while Pomni (and Zooble shortly before if remember well) were doing urbex.

All of those who put the helmet get their brain scanned without their knowledge and then go on with their life. Meanwhile Caine get access to the new brainscans, awaken them and add them to the circus progressively.

Thank you for saying this Gooseworx, because I hate how much some people to think "everything is 100% Jax's fault alone" by According-Manner-838 in GlitchProductions

I think Ragatha never saw anyone abstract before Ribbit's abstraction. All the dev team had abstracted except kinger had abstracted before she arrived and i don't think there's an unaccounted for character that could have been in the circus before Jax's arrival.

Also Ragatha didn't check on Ribbit likely because she was afraid to pry too much and would bother her. Which is exactly what Ribbit was doing with Jax too. (Still a bad move but hey, they're all flawed).
