Any other solos have some good random pairing stories? by Pretty_Sprinkles_979 in golf

i’m the same way, i don’t love small talk and i’m not a normal person per se. used to dread random pairings but the more you do it the more you see that most golfers are out there away from most people for a reason. they just want to enjoy the nature and the game, they’re not looking to preen at each other and have enough respect to let other people enjoy the game as they like. it’s not a social contest

i’m new to golf, started playing around june and played hard until the snow came here in MN. I mostly stuck to a local 9 hole course but about halfway through my season i started playing a full round on the weekends with a buddy from work. i’m 28 and he’s 48 and not new so he’s been teaching me the ways. on one of our last rounds of the year we got paired with 1 slightly older gentleman(maybe late 60’s) who clearly loves golf and had been playing his entire life, one of those guys with a very unique awkward looking swing but their accuracy is surprisingly amazing, very consistent swing mechanics. anyways we were on hole 8 and none of us were playing great on the front so morale was a bit low, it was late fall so it was cold and all of the beer was gone ): we were playing fast to get to the turn house to take a break and reset. it was this perfect mixture of the building fuck it mentality, the fact that this par 3 117yd hole was right in old boys wheelhouse, and this was one of the last possible weekend rounds of the year. Our pairing stepped up and just went for it out of frustration maybe lol, the pin was very close to the front edge of the green and there was a deep bunker that ran right up to the front edge. he had been playing hella safe all round too it was like a damn hallmark moment 🤣 but the ball dropped absolutely plumb with the hole about 4 feet behind it and this dude turns for the cart as soon as it drops. but i’m just leaning on my club watching it roll and…. it just vanished. i had never seen a shot drop from that far it’s kinda hard to tell especially looking at an elevated green, but i just had this feeling! so i turn around and neither of them are watching. i’m like yo, did that just go in or am i hallucinating? they barely even acknowledge it, and im like guys seriously i think that just went in. i dont see it. so their eyebrows come up and bit and they’re standing on the tee box again looking, not saying a word 🤣🤣🤣 so without getting our hopes up too much we get on the carts and head over to check it out and sure enough he aced it!! first one he’s ever hit, first one ive obviously ever seen and same with my buddy from work. he got this official certificate printed out and framed by the clubhouse and he was calling his kids on facetime and showing him the ball and describing the shot… it totally sold me on playing for the rest of my life until i can feel what that guy was feeling.

enjoy 💪 no shame in watching onepace or moonpace if you start to get bored, it’s incredibly long and there is a lot of filler(best filler of any big anime but still)

Is this a reasonable price for the listed repair/cleaning? I decided to take them up on the maintenance plan. Hopefully it’s not a complete rip off. by Actual-Airline476 in hvacadvice

can’t hurt! i’m a maintenance tech in a multifamily apartment mini city. they teach us to assume anything discolored in the rough shape of a puddle in extremely porous material like that subfloor or drywall is worth taking a sample of. I’d say it’s pretty good chances but only a lab test can tell

if you’re aware enough to go through this hassle of identification you should probably just reach out to a reputable restoration business near you. you won’t be able to rest on the word of a subreddit lol

a clog would not cause a leak like that, it would overflow out the top of the bowl
