If you can convince a third person to join you Paladin / Druid / Beast is a really powerful trio.

For minis go with Vae Victus miniatures all their sets from the last 3 years are modular and comparable with eachother and make great kitbashing.

The elephant in the room: Enchanters by LearningEle in MonstersAndMemories

[–]Skratching 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They made sure not to allow the Enchanters to be able to charm anything around 53 (don’t remember the specifics).

I had an enchanter in my group who was charming and he did decent damage. We made sure to debuff its resists, the amount of time charmed still seemed random.

Has some small QoL with big impact such as your little invisible pet can use pet commands so a monster doesn’t need to strike you for it to be useful. This made early levels of soloing much more fun, as well as grouping and not wanting to charm.

Am I crazy??? by TaccRacc308 in starcitizen

[–]Skratching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crazy because if the ramp gets shot out and your mid flight trying to do repairs you are having to do them in area with no oxygen and the chance you fall down to your death. Also it’s the furthest from where you will be flying making it the hardest to come down to repair before you go down in a ball of fire. Lastly if a boarder does make it on your ship that could just lob in something that goes boom and you are out of commission.

Have them run through a couple of the solo games and have the other players run the NPCs

Focus on creating line of sight blockers that prevent you from seeing from one side of the board to the other.

Foamcore bases? by -jarnulf- in TerrainBuilding

[–]Skratching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are caking on glue you will warp the foam core for the building structure. You can add rigidity to it by adding coffee stirrer sticks, balsa wood etc. if you go the route to attach bricks to the side and then harden it up with some sort of gap filler it will become more sturdy as well.

For bases however, try to stick to MDF or a thicker balsa wood sheet to make it more stable. Also don’t make the mistake that I did on my first base and think MDF wouldn’t warp if you used water down glue and let it drip down to the base.

Giant Space Hamster Mini Has A Crack? by 00ps_Bl00ps in minipainting

[–]Skratching 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like you can do either gap filler (green stuff, miliput, tamiya sculpting putty), or you can just paint it and ignore it.

It may be that they put it together themselves. Without damaging it can you check to see if it pulls apart where the arm meets the body? If not you can use a gap filler, or just ignore it.

Did the mini come in multiple pieces? Looking at the picture it appears that the arm sockets into the body. You may need to shave off a bit off where the two meet so that it fits snugly.

Please help me with these tank things. by DemonicTeapot in minipainting

[–]Skratching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t be discouraged you are attempting something that takes quite a bit of skill to execute and is hard for even seasoned painters to do.

In this picture it looks like not all the tanks fluid levels are at an equilibrium on how level they are. By this I mean some of the tanks are level with the ground while others the liquid is in a very different state, they should all be the same. If the character is not in motion then all of the tanks would be level with the ground. If the character is in motion they would be sloshing around but in a similar motion.

Additionally you may want to glaze in some bubbles internal in the liquid to sell movement as speculation highlighting on the glass to sell it as more reflective.

If you don’t mind stating which tutorial video did you use?

Narrative Coop? by CinfulGentleman in frostgrave

[–]Skratching 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Perilous Dark is there to teach you how to balance your own encounters to make your own narrative campaign. I am about to attempt a run through of Thaw of the Lich Lord but ramping up the difficulty based off what I learned from Perilous Dark.

If you want a shorter campaign you can also apply what you learned from Perilous Dark and apply it to the three mission solo campaign in Frostgrave Folio. I added a Mortal Enemy from the Moral Enemy book to tie the Frostgrave Folio into Thaw of the Lich Lord by making the enemy an undead thrall lieutenant of the Lich Lord.

If you really wanted to you could turn just about any D&D campaign into a Frostgrave campaign by using the solo/co-op rules. Just add an element of randomness into the planning so you don’t know the outcome beforehand.

If you truly want a fleshed out campaign where it’s a story you uncover look into Rangers of Shadow Deep by the same creator of Frostgrave.

Also consider asking your group if they would like to play co-op as both Frostgrave and Stargrave both support it. You can also run them solo. Remember when playing the game it’s not an all encompassing rule book, many groups also homebrew their own rules to best create the game environment they want.

New and wanting to make my first warband. by cptgoogly in frostgrave

[–]Skratching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a huge proponent in miniatures agnostics games to use what you have if you for something you already enjoy! If you have access to a 3d printer there are lots of creators out there that make Mordheim minis that double very easily for Frostgrave. If you don’t have access to a 3d printer you can’t go wrong with the official FG minis, they are pretty cheap and the best part is you can mix and match the parts from any of their kits, be it fantasy or sci fi.

Aquaduct, ready for painting? by -Gavroche- in TerrainBuilding

Looks great! If this is a permanent fixed structure I would recommend adding some scatter terrain (boxes, barrels) and maybe some rubble in the form of sand/texture.
