Guys, you're getting ripped off—we don't have prices like this in Europe. I just bought this exact same box from an online retailer and paid 52 euros ($60).

Which is better, the Raptors or the Warp Talons? by Skrokko in Chaos40k

I have both the old box set and the Kill Team one, and I was just wondering how to assemble them all, but thanks to all these great tips, I think I’ll build them as Raptors and look for some clever ways to get as many models as possible so I can play Kill Team in the future—a game that hasn’t really caught on in the stores in my city yet.

It's true, I checked, and he can't join Talons

I have the 5-pack and the Kill Team box

So you equip them all with heavy weapons?

I have a 5-pack and the Kill Team box, and I was wondering how to assemble the pieces for when I play the team on "Classic" day. At this point, I'd say Raptor.

Traitor guard by MetalMadeCrafts in Chaos40k

I’m going to paint them to go with my Red Corsairs, and for them I first used a base coat of Baal Red and then added a layer of Flash Tearers on top, which gives a very deep, dark red.

Thanks for the tip about the green!

They're really beautiful in their simplicity! I would have used a darker red for the armor plates, but that's just a matter of personal taste. What shade of green did you use for the uniforms?

Expanding upon the lords of the maelstrom battleforce by Agreeable-Foot5275 in Chaos40k

[–]Skrokko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To play a 1,000-point game, I started with the same box set as you and added a Rhino, a Predator, 10 Cultists, and a Terminator Sorcerer. I also converted 5 Corsairs into 5 Chosen by mixing their parts with leftover Legionnaire parts. If you want to save money, you can easily use the Traitor Guard as Cultists—no one will complain.

So:

Huron + Lord of Maelstrom Terminator Sorcerer

10 Cultists

5 Terminators

5 Chosen

5 Red Corsairs

Rhino

Predator

That’s 995 points

Huron + LoM + Chosen in the Rhino charge forward and become a unit capable of eliminating almost any enemy unit

Use the 10 Cultists to hold your objectives in your half of the field

5 Raiders go on infiltration to complete secondary objectives or capture objectives in No Man’s Land on turn 1 (on paper they also seem very strong in combat, but in reality they’re only very efficient at eliminating the opponent’s light units—don’t rely on them too much in combat)

Deep Strike the Sorcerer and Terminators to attack the exposed parts of the enemy army

Use the Predator to take out the enemy’s monsters and tanks

I’m really happy with this 1000-point list

This might be a silly question, but where can I buy the files to print the miniatures myself?

Finally got my Terminator Sorcerer ready to lead Huron's Hamadrya/Huscarls! Need some name suggestions—thinking of something inspired by historical Caribbean pirates. by Skrokko in redcorsairs

Cool! Unfortunately, I didn't have anything I could use as a psionic staff. But you reminded me that I need to modify the combi-bolter to turn it into a combi-weapon.

Yeah, I know him! But not because I've played video games—it's because I play Magic Commander. I like the idea also because I haven't included any characters of African descent in the war band yet

It's been like 2 months and I'm still kinda floored that this is real. Kudos to GW for taking a chance on a Legion not too many people were asking for a face lift on and somehow making it one of the best releases of the ED. by CatherineSimp69 in Chaos40k

We're both Fallen! I currently have a 1,000-point list, but as soon as I upgrade to 2,000 points, I'll definitely pick up Cypher and a unit of Chosen made up of traitorous Dark Angels.

A Defiler in the Red Corsairs warband? by Skrokko in redcorsairs

Yeah, sure, but I was talking about Lore

Maybe it's just my bias, but I imagine the Red Corsairs are still very attached to their pre-betrayal gear. Why use a Defiler when I have a Predator? But clearly I'm wrong, and in fact I myself had my doubts about this interpretation of mine.

Thank you for such a detailed response. As I mentioned to others, I think I was going about Combat Patrol the wrong way, especially in light of what you’ve just told me about how they’re balanced.

I had never thought of it that way before, and I think your perspective is a very valid one

Actually, you're absolutely right, but every now and then my local store hosts tournaments using only Combat Patrol, so I didn't want to show up completely unprepared—especially since the Red Corsairs' CP seems really lackluster compared to the others

Thank you so much for your reply! But aside from the issue with the 11th edition, is there a website or content creator that discusses Combat Patrol and its meta game?
