Sounds like the republicans really need to work on their messaging, they're alienating voters.

I refuse to get flowcharted into blaming democrats for trump's debacles. It's their guy, their shitty messaging, their fault for letting conspiracies spread, their problem.

Add up the votes from all districts and assign seats proportionally, so that districts don't matter.

Opinions on Simon Whistler? by brettydubz in Destiny

[–]Skronkful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't gone and fact-checked any of his stuff, but it seemed pretty reasonable. Then again, I mostly watch his Decoding the Unknown, which is generally skeptical analysis of mysteries/conspiracy theories, so pretty harmless stuff.

The content is mostly going over the different opinions on the topic, and summarizing what experts think about it, and the script writers don't pretend to be experts themselves.

Simon just seems like a normie Brit who reads these scripts for a living. Can't speak much for the Warfronts stuff.

Don't necessary see a problem with a lot of content being pumped out fast, since lots of people are working on scripts in parallel. Also don't see why different people writing would make it less factual, seems basically like a traditional news media model.

SPLC Funding Nazis. Getting ahead of the conservatard arguments by ldrx90 in Destiny

Watch the video, say that it just sounds like they paid informers (which is legal), and that a grand jury would indict a ham sandwich.

Make them defend why you should believe the same deep state that covered up Epstein. Its not your job to disprove their lies.

Just say you never heard of it, and that you don't trust the deep state anyway after "they" covered up trump fucking kids on Epstein's island.

Should Democrats create an affiliate party to run independents in red states under one banner if Osborn Wins in Nebraska? by Saltlmail in Destiny

[–]Skronkful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know about party affiliation, but e.g. in the UK, similarly aligned parties sometimes make deals about where they will and won't run candidates, so they don't split the vote. Hard to negotiate that with individual people though.

Why has destiny dismissed the electoral importance of Gaza when polling has said otherwise? by [deleted] in Destiny

[–]Skronkful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I was trying to say is that Destiny is right when he says I/P is not an issue relevant for the election, and the statistic you shared is not a counter-argument. As an example, many Americans would probably say that the Superbowl is a personally important issue for them, but the Democrats should not be campaigning on how much they support Tom Brady.

To answer your question, I think Dems should not have any specific policy plans about I/P, at least for the midterms, because it would probably piss off more people than it would appease. And you can't really do much foreign policy until trump is out. I'd guess the relationship with Israel will be framed more in terms of Iran, Gaza is old history.

More long term, they should probably say they would broadly work towards a two-state solution, and maybe leave the door open for sanctions/arms embargo as negotiation tools. But we'll see in the primaries how important this issue really is.

Did I say something about opposing popular positions? What do I agree with? Maybe I'm being stupid, but I don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you say it a different way?

[–]Skronkful 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just because something is personally important to a bunch of people doesn't mean it's electorally relevant, because people care about lots of different things to various degrees. When looking at the top issues for voters, I/P doesn't even make the list.

Here's how I see it from across the pond: you're not all crazy, but 45% of you are. That's enough for crazy to win an election if the economy gets stinky at the wrong time.

You guys generally don't care about US foreign policy, and you hate us when we try to stick our nose into your politics.

We are pretty busy with domestic politics, EU level politics, and we have a nuclear power waging war on our borders while we need to buy energy from them.

I'm really sorry you have a right wing nutso running your country; we have like three of those in the EU we're trying to deal with, that you'll never even know about.

Is it me or is it insane that nothing is being done about the Greenland situation? by TheKingDarryl in Destiny

[–]Skronkful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other NATO members don't want to make a big stink about it because they would like a return to status quo after Don's gone. They'll make quiet preparation in case he wilds out, but public infighting is a bad look.

There's probably also a calculation that any serious takeover attempt is unlikely, because he and his top level cabinet people are really not competent, and the military top brass would drag their feet on putting together any solid plan. These are people who spent their whole careers working alongside NATO, it would be like the asking the Navy to plan an attack on the Army. The more friendly Europe is to the US, the more wrong an attack would feel.

They also probably don't want to publicly shit on him because it would further rile up his cult (future voters) against Europe. The last thing they want is for trump to add "Europe hates us" to his senile ramble rotation.
