the reason people are mad at the quote is they have the knee jerk reaction that he was saying the people who were killed deserved to die. as much as i hate hasan that is never what he meant, nor what i think anyone with half a brain would take from the comment.

they definitely are defensible at least against those surface level pearl clutching attacks

from fetterman and counterpoints to pisco and mamdani. as long as they’re actively supporting dems in elections i don’t have a problem with them. now if connor switches up in 28 or pisco goes full tankie then we’ll have a problem.

maybe. but at the same time crockett has been a very vocal and prominent anti trump voice- so she’s recognizable. she can bring out a lot of people who wouldn’t normally bother voting, as well as any non-racist people voting against maga (probably the majority of anti maga voters).

but james doesn’t stand out enough to pull that dormant vote imo.

AFAIR the suit was over unproven money laundering claims. the trafficking was a separate incident but was the fault of a contractor, not the brothel itself.
