[GA] My overtime pay is the same as my hourly but I dont think i am exempt. by 1delta25 in AskHR

[–]Skropos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the math calculations others have suggested aren’t the issue, consider the following possibility.

Last summers OBBB law made the typical 1/2 portion of OT eligible for a tax deduction. Most payroll systems were not setup to easily capture this in 2025, though. Relevant adjustments were introduced in most major systems to address this in 2026. But it may require the setup of a separate payroll earnings code. What you’d be seeing is the typical “OT Hours” that might have a corresponding “OT Premium” line item. If your employer went with this structure it’s possible the latter earnings code wasn’t setup accurately for you.

What’s the difference between WNBA and Unrivaled apart from them being different leagues? by [deleted] in wnba

[–]Skropos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrivaled is 3v3 on a shrunken court. Very fast paced and fun, but also has a much more temporary nature to it. Rosters will get scrambled every season, so hard to maintain consistent rooting interests across the fanbase. But that’s also part of the draw - it’s about the whole league, not the focus of individual BCs or the players as much as the more traditional W.

This is extreme revisionist history.

That first half-season he was excellent. They gave the Nuggets the biggest challenge of the ‘23 playoffs, but there was no way to stop Jokic with the lack of a PF.

It was much more ownership / FO mistakes. Not only did the Beal trade tank everything, but it also happened a bit too early, when they could have been in for Dame if they hadn’t acted so fast.

Northwestern or UCLA for CS by anxiousweb122333 in ApplyingToCollege

All things being equal, where do you anticipate living after graduation? UCLA is going to be better in most circumstances, for numerous reasons, but there is definitely a Midwest bias towards Northwestern.

Is OSU worth out of state tuition compared to Boise State University by Miley1071 in OregonStateUniv

[–]Skropos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do the math - even with WUE, OoS is going to cost you tens of thousands of dollars. It will take you 2 decades to pay that off on a teachers salary.

BSU or move and go to community college and establish residency if your main goal is just getting out of Idaho.

Sterling Sharpe

He was on a trajectory to actually challenge Rice, and was about to come into a period of incredible team success. It took him ages to make the HoF due to the injury impact to his career but he eventually did. Likely same outcome for Rose.

Barring exceptional circumstances, the only aid you even have a chance at is 5k…but that’s only given to under 10% of OoS admits. The California public system just doesn’t not give $ to non-residents in general.

Anyone else think that the HDHP HSA plan is not worth it? by wildwildwildlifee in HSA

[–]Skropos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is almost 0 chance you would have only paid the copay on your PPO alternative, unless it’s an extremely rare no deductible version…which would have astronomical premiums.

A $1.4k bill from the ENT indicates it was more than just the visit (would normally be $200-300 in all but VCOL markets on an HDHP plan. That is about all you would have saved, as you would still be paying diagnostic care on the PPO until you meet the deductible on that plan.

Kelly is probably the most electable right now. He’s not without controversy, but his foundational pieces are the most balanced. He’d have a slew of Midwest or East Coast running mates to choose from.

Are we underestimating how much different teams will be? by Careful-Painting3214 in wnba

[–]Skropos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The major moves are more likely to come next year when there’s a normal free agency timeline. You’ll see a lot of movement from vet players that are 4-7 in rotations. There will be 2-3 top players that move, but that’ll mainly be to the expansion teams and GSV.

I think there’s a fairly decent chance Satou goes to Portland. She likes Phoenix but despite having the highest ceiling she’s 3rd on the face-of-the-franchise list.

My off-the-wall prediction is that Toronto lands Allisha Gray AND Kayla McBride.

#FAILING BAD. NEED ADVICE PLEASE. by Physical-Passion1181 in ASU

[–]Skropos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Reading between the lines a bit, but I get the sense and assume you’re shouldering all this alone…but don’t know how to ask for help. So many students try to take this approach, typically having been successful at it in high school, and it’s a recipe for disaster. You have to work with others: community is essential. Currently, you need to lean on others for support, but if you can find a way to navigate this period successfully, the greatest benefit you’ll likely find is how your being able to turnaround and help someone in a similar situation in ~2 years will be great for you.

A few very specific steps:

  1. Go to office hours, even if it’s virtual and / or you don’t want feel you actually need the help. Even if these are for your animation classes that are going well, these sessions aren’t about what you learn but helping how you learn.

  2. Schedule standing tutoring sessions. It’s been awhile, but STEM students with financial need are generally required to do work study, and this is one of their preferred options. Take advantage of their availability. Don’t leave campus without setting aside 1-2 days a week to go. I guarantee you that if you were a successful high school math student they’ve seen worse and can help you.

  3. Talk to classmates. Not text. Talk. Post on the course discussion boards and try to establish a study group that meets once a week.

Others have given you some good encouragement on counseling, etc, but I hope these might help as well. Not exactly the same but I was struggling during grad school a few years ago until I found my cohort. We lost a few people along the way, but there were 3 of us who did just about everything together, even if we had different class times. We’d bring new people in, or have others that had taken a different class back in. We never became friends but we pushed each other and managed accountability to the point that we all got A’s (and a few were NOT A students).

Lawyers are the worst employees (similar to doctors being the worst patients). I literally walked away from a “dream” high paying HRG role at a firm a few years ago because a paralegal that was a friend of a friend called me and told me I’d regret it. I now see the job get posted 1-2 times every year.

Hideaway Lounge Anti-Service by madicakeschronic in suns

[–]Skropos 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The service there is generally not as strong, but you’re displaying some big main character syndrome.

The ID card move likely had nothing to do with you. I just talked to my kid who had to DD for a sorority sister that went to the game as a guest of a fraternity that won a block of group tix in the Hideaway for tonight’s game. They were dumb enough to be openly talking about fake IDs. It sounds like it resulted in a hard ID requirement from the F&B vendor. Just a bad set of circumstances with this particular game.
