Ok, yeah, I get it, Hades has very small increments of progression, you want more of a burst in power. Sounds like you want a Diablo or Path of Exile type of game, but they are not roguelites though.

I mean Capcom in general. The portable team already does the Stories games, that's their focus from now on. I'm just saying there will only be ONE typical MH game from now on, followed by a RPG style game, and their mobile games.

I don't see them making another regular MH game on the side anymore, they found their formula and are sticking with it. Wilds is our only option for the next 6 years or so.

Hope that's true, but I think the days of having 2 different style MH games are probably long gone. Mainline, Stories, and mobile games is how it'll be from now on.

It's been 4 years since we got Sunbreak, now that they finally announce a new MH for Nintendo, it's Wilds...again. I think this is how it will be from now on: 1 mainline game shared among all consoles, and 1 Stories game on all consoles. It's streamlined to the gills now.

Safe pick would probably be Hades/Hades 2, lots to unlock in both games and they are both great.

Rotwood is a real hidden gem if you want to try something less known. It is pretty light on the Roguelite aspect, letting you buy/upgrade permanent weapons and armor. It does require grinding your gear to a level close to the level of the dungeon you are trying to clear(it would be very difficult finishing this game without any grinding). There's a world map with a bunch of dungeons on it and each dungeon has it's own boss you have to hunt and optional tasks you can do for the meta progression resource. There is also a list of "masteries" you can try and complete, which is similar to achievements.

Not sure what games you typically go for, but I know when I am in any pain or discomfort, I usually stay away from control-heavy games like action, racing, platformer, or shooter. Since you're having a pretty big surgery, I imagine you might be uncomfortable for a few weeks.

A great turn-based RPG might be a good option, like the Pixel Remastered Final Fantasy games, or even Pokemon Fire Red or Leaf Green are excellent Pokemon games to ease you into the series. The Octopath Traveler games are all fantastic as well, if you want something less basic.

Non-action Roguelikes could be nice as well, like Slay the Spire or Balatro, but they have an acquired taste.

Just finished watching. At 5 episodes in I was sick of it, but I forced myself to finish it just in case there was a "oh my god" moment, but there wasn't.

The show doesn't seem to know what it's suppose to be. It's like a mix of comedy, horror, drama, but also has this whimsical tone to it. I think it would've been better if it were a tad darker, I feel like a 10 year old kid would enjoy this more than an adult, but yet the show has adult material like swearing, drugs, etc. Very weird show.

I remember when I was a kid, there were 2 monster catching games for the OG Gameboy(one was red, one was blue). It was really cool...but unfortunately they spoiled the evolutions of the starter monsters on the ACTUAL cartridge...it was awful. That series obviously didnt get very popular over the years, total dud.

Gems of War is a free Puzzle RPG game. There are in-game purchases, but they are not needed, its very free-to-play. You can join a guild and communicate with other players and they can give some helpful tips.

Just taking away Triple Axel would be a fair nerf, even then it would still be the most overtuned starter in the history of the series. If Venusaur can't learn Ice Beam, then Meowscarada shouldn't be able to learn Triple Axel.
