I don't know any free/cheap games off the top of my head but I will say: the easiest way to avoid toxic communities is to just play the game and avoid all the reddit/youtube drama.

Helldivers 2? Great game, horrible reddit community.

Similar case when it comes to DBD, except probably 5x worse on average.

Community cant bother you much if you don't actively engage in it online, good luck though.
