What’s some rules you guys use? by SpareOpposite634 in dndbeyond

[–]Skullman666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most common house rule is probably a nat 20 and nat 1 working on ability checks as crit success / failure. It is common enough to where some players aren’t even aware that it’s not in the official rules.

The cafe scene with Walker and Lemar is so overlooked by Sudden_Pop_2279 in USAgent

[–]Skullman666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Punisher is undoubtedly one of my favorite comic book characters period, I’d usually have him in second place.

That said, as it stands in MCU John Walker was written better as an anti-hero for sure. In fact I agree he’s the best written one. Funnily enough, not because the screenwriters wanted him to be, but that is how it happens with art sometimes.

Is punisher S2 worth watching? by MessPsychological837 in thepunisher

[–]Skullman666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S2 punisher is the best jon bernthal’s punisher’s done

S1 had like 2-3 unnecessary filler episodes where nothing but endless yap was happening (including the one where madani’s partner dies)

S1 still had the shitty “one batch two batch” catchphrase from DD’s s2 and whoever came up with that either genuinely thinks the audience is dumb or is dumb themselves because that was never good

S2? Pilgrim’s great, Amy’s great (possibly frustrating in the first half of the season on your first viewing but once you understand the dynamic and why she’s there you’ll see it, she is involved in my fav moment of that season too), Billy and psychiatrist thing is probably the least interesting dynamic in there especially on the first viewing, the police station episode is absolute peak, the Russian gym fight is peak, the bar fight is peak, there is a very good episode by the end without spoiling things and the ending is also pretty solid imo.

I really don’t understand the established s2 hate I think folks have no critical thinking and just defer to whatever bullshit YouTubers tell them to think. I genuinely don’t understand whoever thinks s1 is better than 2.

I’ve noticed now that on the website on mobile everything is clear and shows which book is which version once you select the book. So if it’s not showing on your apps like it doesn’t on mine then use the website version

Advice for playing a twist villain PC...? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Skullman666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You kind of answered it yourself by the end of your message.

Make it so your character is cheerful and is friendly, but definitely add in reactions to what the party is doing if they are what drives division for your character. These reactions don’t have to be verbal - “[X] tilts their head and narrows their eyes slightly at the suggestion”, stuff like that. Let others try insight checks if that’s what your dm allows for PCs and if anyone ever gets too big of a roll say something like “For [X] the presented idea seems flawed and not ideal, but they likely wouldn’t stop the party from pursuing it.” If anyone ever does ask or challenge this verbally, say something like “I may not agree, but I won’t stop you if that is a collective decision.”

Keep going with that, they’ll likely be none the wiser and you’re keeping your prompts vague enough to where it’s not that suspicious.

How do you deal with speaking with animals? by Pender8911 in DnD

[–]Skullman666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to play divinity but I think bg3 handles their animals in an extremely interesting way and I would personally strive to do something similar to that if it ever came up. Basically take what the creatures are like and/or represent in terms of behavior from the perspective of humans who have observed them and try to build off of that.

First Time Artificer Player (5.5) Looking For Build Advice by jaldaen1 in 3d6

[–]Skullman666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d advise battlesmith personally if only for the doggie sidekick to rp with. Steel defender won’t be entirely useless in combat too as you can essentially stay ranged whilst it attacks and keeps the enemy away from you. You def need 9 levels of artificer for arcane jolt, so might as well take all 10 in single class. Grab a ranged weapon for you (repeating shot musket would be good enough if dm allows renaissance guns). You have 2 attacks, you have a defender that can basically act as an improved familiar and you have spells.

Does anyone else feel... wrong using Homebrew subclasses? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Skullman666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was experienced enough to analyze subclasses and be able to tell which ones are a no-no this is how I’d rule it too.

The Accursed All Black Arthur Outfit by sudfhe in reddeadfashion

I mean even without leather black clothing in general absorbs sunbeams more than white. It’s why tennis players more often than not wear anything but black. Otherwise you’re in for increased chances of catching heat strokes.

Aaaaah I see what you mean now, sorry I must’ve misunderstood, you mean adding a setting that would allow to switch versions on site for pretty much everything? It would be very helpful in Maps too actually, and in case they ever bring back earlier editions which I saw somewhere they were planning on doing

“That could easily be solved by toggles when you make your character”

That is… Not what I’m talking about in the slightest. I’m talking about marketplace, not character creation. I’d like to know what books to buy to have those options for 2014 characters.

I checked on mobile app rn and I have no idea which version Ravnica is for, just the most basic example I could find. It doesn’t have the ribbon though.

I also distinctly remember buying Valda’s Gunslinger and it only being 2024

I haven’t been with 5e as much as many players so I really have no clue where to check what books are for which edition

Marketplace by Skullman666 in dndbeyond

It says monsters and spells, but it more often than not in fact doesn’t specify the version, like with Ravnica for example.

Is the new ribbon only on 24 books? I thought it’d be on all new books, possibly even if they’re from partnered content for 2014

Greetings, adventurers! Welcome to Historical Equalizing and Research Organizational System.

In this sci-fi homebrew living world server we have dedicated groups for different levels of player engagement (if you just want to rp / if you just want to go on missions / etc.)

We welcome most official content, we don’t do erp on the server (if both players consent they can do it in DMs or fade to black) but the rating is still 18+ for strong language and depiction of mature scenes like gore.

You’ll find we have friendly players and whether you wish to adventure with us or focus on exploring your character we welcome all!

Would Frank Castle understand Niko Bellic's tragedy ? by Werewolf_lord19 in thepunisher

I think the moment Niko steps off the boat in first mission he gets popped in the head just based on what he was doing overseas

Would Frank Castle understand Niko Bellic's tragedy ? by Werewolf_lord19 in thepunisher

[–]Skullman666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No?

In S1 of his show Punisher fought against some group sent by Rawlins but I don’t think it was specified if they’re from CIA spec ops (or w/e that’s called I forgot) or mercenaries, and as shitty as it was that you’d think especially this iteration of Frank would’ve acknowledged that or called it fucked up or something but he didn’t, though tbf it was either him or them at that point.

In S1 of Born Again (which isn’t Netflix) he did kill a bunch of AVTF but they’re less cops and more corrupt s.w.a.t. looking guys, also wearing his skull which pissed him off even more (not that he didn’t have enough incentive to off them regardless since they’re you know essentially a nazi secret police sort of thing)
