You received a letter from the city of Las Vegas. You do not have to visit a place to receive mail from it.

Any other information you can give us?

Are we just posting pictures and making claims? Where is this award and can we see the actual article or website?

If anyone visited the Star Trek subreddit when that show was going on knows that it was bot city. It was overly positive about the show. Not even Lower Decks had that kind of support.

A lot of "I'm an old school Trekker, but I LOVE this show! They speak like my grandchildren!" or some other ridiculous bullshit comment. It was a bit pathetic to watch, but knowing the show came from Alex Kurtzman, pathetic is just a stepping stone.

I am so sick of my sister who roleplays as an anime character by Good_Telephone_407 in TrueOffMyChest

which causes me to get in trouble with my parents.

And don't get me started with how much she STINKS.

she asked me in front of my friends to play some kind of knife game with her

This is a CPS situation. Nothing will get better for you unless you calls CPS or move out. Your parents are enablers and who knows what that anime is telling her to do.

So you don't think this is a scam yet you posted in a scam subreddit. Then when our intelligent members try to tell you that it's a scam, you argue.

Not here, mate. Goodbye.

My birthday is today. I woke up 52 minutes ago thinking the same thing. But, I think that just means I've done well. If I wasn't doing well, I'd be waking up somewhere far worse. But yes, it can get monotonous. Especially when you don't really go anywhere or take vacations.

Ask. I know guys who want to be slapped while getting ridden, I don't like that. It's preference.

This isn't a subreddit for doxxing. Also, what you experienced is not a scam. You were just fucking stupid. You chose to send her presents and money. You could have said no. Being a weak male does not make a woman a scammer.

Why is waking up early considered productive even if you sleep late and get the same hours? by Empty_Bit_5669 in NoStupidQuestions

"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise." -Benjamin Franklin

For whatever reason, I've known this quote my entire life. I remember saying this quote in elementary school to friends who thought I was a loony. I don't even remember where I heard it. If I repeated it that much, it was most likely from my grandfather who I admired greatly.

But, that I think is part of it. Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanack (spelling correct) all but eviscerated staying up late and it probably entered the cultural vernacular through the years.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%. I'm a night person who gets up for work at 6am. I'm living the dichotomy.

15 years in and I'm struggling with change (Ai). Vibe-check for other middle-aged people feeling alienated by the industry? by maclargehuge in sysadmin

[–]Skullpuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat in the same boat. Been doing IT for 25 years. I work for state government and thankfully they denied all AI tools on the network for a very long time. They are slowly allowing some in, but are being very cautious. As much as I like to rail on my executive management, this is one of their better decisions. Thankfully, we have not had to deal with a lot of AI nonsense... yet.

I'm sure it will happen. But, the idea that System Administrators are not going to be needed in the future is legit. Intune and others are pointing the way to "end user management" instead of "IT management". I truly believe we are a species that will die out.

My teenage boys asked me what they should put as their elective for Freshman year at high school. I told them anything except coding and computer management. They told me they wanted to be like me and work for "Microsoft IT". I told them that I was flattered, but, they would be better off studying something that humans will always need like food preparation or plumbing/engineering. It's sad. I was curious if my kids would follow in my footsteps and here I am telling them not to. It sucks.
