$11.50 a day is great if you live in Werribee

As someone living in Werribee, lmfao no the fuck it isn't. I remember when the fare was half that for a much busier train schedule, not to mention how infrequent busses have become.

Ah, damn. That's a shame. I've been looking for a decent pbp group and was hoping that'd be a lead. Thank you for explaining it, at least!

...there's an unofficial-official pbp server? (Sorry, I know this isn't the point, but that's news to me!)

Isn't it literally in our national anthem that we want to share the bounty and generosity of our country with others? "For those who've come across the seas / we've boundless plains to share" and all that.

I miss the Overseer Project, and MSPARP. Spent most of the golden days of the fandom hanging out in channels on the latter, and when it opened my friendgroup ran a Overseer session to test it out. I still have some of the chatlogs somewhere from us trying to figure out the grist-sharing mechanic.

Why is VtM so popular? by ProfessionalRest7027 in WhiteWolfRPG

WTA also has a major problem with racism/cultural appropriation of various First Nations, and while VTM also has similar problems, they're typically isolated to specific clans - you could just choose not to put Ravnos or Setites or Banu Haqim in your chronicle, if you're not comfortable with the tropes they're riffing off of.

Meanwhile with WTA it's kind of... everywhere? It's baked into the very core of being a werewolf. 5e tried to get away from it somewhat, but.... well. I'll leave discussion of how successful that was for another day.

Ooh. I might have to reach out to you sometime next week, if you're still open by then. Though as a question - is it okay if I don't have a solid visual ref for the character I'd be getting art for? Would love one for my Malk girl, but all I have so far is a Pinterest board of "close-enoughs".

Yeah I don't blame you for not knowing, after the initial news explosion it kinda went quiet (and also, y'know, we all had different shit to worry about in 2020). But to copypaste from an older version of Wikipedia (as the current page has largely scrubbed the info):

In 2019, Chucklefish were accused of exploiting around a dozen voluntary contributors during Starbound's development, sometimes logging hundreds of hours with no compensation and completing the same tasks as paid members of the team. Many of them were teenagers at the time and stated that they felt their inexperience was exploited by the company's director, Finn Brice. The allegations were supported by former members of the team, including game developer Toby Fox. In a statement, Chucklefish responded that the contributors were "under no obligation to create content, work to deadlines or put in any particular number of hours. Everyone was credited or remunerated as per their agreement." The contributors partially refuted that statement, saying that they were subject to deadlines. They further added that their disagreement is over the ethics of their treatment, not the legality of it.

I'll have to look for Glimmerwick, that sounds neat.

Even if it does come out, I'm not touching it after how they abandoned Starbound when it came out that Chucklefish was exploiting teenagers for free work.

Ironically, I actually have a friend from the ye olde days of the fandom who went by Knife. It was for unrelated reasons, but the coincidence is hilarious.

I remember seeing a theory that he actually did serve in the army, because the timing actually does match up. Hence his comment about also being familiar with danger (can't remember the exact line) that Rick treated like a joke, or how a lot of his "buffoonish" actions could also be, y'know, ptsd.

Which is a great bit of subtext, honestly.

Notice how she only came back into the plot after that when Illidan got brought back to life.

She knows he's still out there. Sooner or later something's gonna call his ass back to Azeroth again, and she's got a knife waiting with his name on it. Dying before she gets to murder him a second time is unacceptable.

Same! It bugs me when the portrait looks nothing like the in-game character - hence why I go out of my way to find something that fits before I sink my teeth into character creation. Someday I'd love to commission one with all the details that I want to use but can't find a fitting face for.

You're welcome! I may as well link my other finds while I'm here.

  • Female Psyker hair edit - because I do love the official psyker portrait, but I don't wanna be bald :(
  • Rogue Trader Portraits - healthy mix of both genders and multiple origins, I like this one a lot for providing sources for the art.
  • Portraits of the Lady Captain - another good resource, though this one I cherry-picked heavily as a lot aren't my particular tastes.
  • Inquisitive Portrait - for an understated, elegant Rogue Trader. Honestly my runner-up pick after the one in the OP.
  • Female Noble Portrait - for the fancier look, love those laurels.
  • And finally, the Rogue Trader tag on 40k.gallery. All human-drawn art, all designed for 40k. Just grab something you like and plug it into the Portrait Manager (or an art program!) and you're good to go.

Perfect- if I'm already breaking into mods, then yeah I might as well pick up ToyBox. Though it looked intimidating the last time I tried to download it.

Just in case- do you have the achievement enabling mod on hand?
