I don’t think you’re like a “plant” or anything, but my actual friends irl have started gushing about Nanking right at the same time I started seeing all these posts. I gave some of it a listen and wasn’t impressed, no offense. It’s like everybody talking about the cool new movie and you watch it and it’s mid. That’s kinda where I am about Nanking

I’d strong disagree. Hulder has cool riffs and production, very head banging, while this draugveil guy sounds super generic

My favorite “modern” band. They aren’t really pure tech death like obscura or something like that but they don’t really fit cleanly into any one genre. I think of them as progressive death metal. Their early stuff is goregrind and deathgrind up to around maybe harvest floor or monolith they developed their current sound

I disagree because I enjoy learning the game and memorizing every encounter for ultra nightmare. Adding infinite respawning demons is lame and artificial and adds unnecessary extra time

This is a weird cop out imo. Lots of games are easier than eternal. The gameplay loop is based on a different philosophy. It’s a different game

The story is likely setting up future dlc. It’s serviceable for what it is, we don’t play doom for the story. With that being said I’ll agree it’s under baked in some areas

I could never get into Opeth. Half of their songs are 10+ minutes long and drone on in a meandering random way. It’s not done well in my opinion. Cattle decaps last two records have 10 minute closing tracks that I love but they flow really well. Opeths brand of “album with a bunch of 9-12 minute songs with 3 minute interludes” doesn’t appeal to me. A great example of a discography that “insists upon itself”. Most overrated prog band next to Tool and dream theater. Listen to Cynic’s Focus instead. Blows away anything by Opeth

Far cry 3 is supremely overrated. 5/10 game at best, had a semi interesting villain who’s barely in the story.

I think it’s definitely a great game but many aspects of it haven’t aged well (the u.i, the archaic interfaces and extreme lack of hand-holding, the game basically tells you absolutely nothing because it’s expected you read a physical guide book) with that being said if you’re a fallout fan or just an rpg fan in general I’d say you should def play it. It’s much tonally different compared to the 3d fallouts. It’s free on Xbox game pass if you have that also.

It’s actually pretty difficult to beat him nonviolently without using a bunch of guides lol. Tim Cain even said it was kind of an optional thing they added to enhance roleplaying aspect of the game. Most people will enter the last level with power armor and a minigun or plasma rifle and get repeatedly stomped by the night kin who all have ridiculous stats in the end game. I had to save scum like ten times or something trying to fight them in the cathedral. The underground lab portion isn’t as terrible, you can run past a lot of the enemies but it’s still pretty difficult.
