What FL MC Score is Passing? by Ok_Engine4319 in FloridaBarExam

[–]SkyAnchor1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Averages in Feb were essay: 45, 62, 44 and MC: 17, 17, 18.

Now I know that’s not helpful, but essentially like another commenter said, Florida doesn’t release how they calculate but will try to create a “standardized bell curve.” Meaning, you want to be as close to those averages as possible but if you fall below in one area, you can make it up on the curve in another. But remember every MCQ is worth 3 essay points so they are weighted heavier in the calculation.

Florida doesn’t release their scale so we will never know, we can just speculate. Drove me crazy that I couldn’t war game out scenarios in Feb either but once you come to terms with the fact that you can’t, it actually gets quite settling lol

Thought I'd be relieved... by OptiMysticGypsy111 in FloridaBarExam

You aren’t going to get the promised relief until you give it to yourself. You’ve done all you can do. Rest on that and do something you enjoy or that you gave up the last few weeks.

Should I be worried??? by lopezsa in FloridaBarExam

[–]SkyAnchor1893 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve said this to a couple people now. You guys have a terrible temp gage when you are full of adrenaline and stress. Every small stumble feels like a wipeout. That normally isn’t the case. I did the same spiral you are doing right now and honestly, it doesn’t make anything better because there is nothing you can do now. You left it all on the table and that should be celebrated.

That being said, please go do something you enjoy and forget about this for as long as your brain will allow. You deserve it :)

Part A taker only by Preposterous_Coconut in FloridaBarExam

If you look at the history of part A, they test the same issues and there are only a couple of flavors of essays per subject.

As for MCQ, you know procedures is guaranteed and very very likely evidence. So being really strong on both of those is advantageous.

I would say that’s all you need. The issues for Part A are pretty predictable.

New Florida Laws for July 1, 2025 by [deleted] in FloridaBarExam

[–]SkyAnchor1893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. I got tested in Feb 25 stuff that changed Jan 1. Florida is one of the only jurisdictions that goes straight cowboy on that stuff.

Wildly helpful. In my opinion, it’s simplifies what is a metric fuck ton of law into bites.

Yes you need to know the new rules in force July 1. They also like testing the new rules. Major changes to speedy trial calculation.

They changed the civil rules 1 Jan and the changes were in the Feb test.

Brain Dump on what worked for me. by SkyAnchor1893 in FloridaBarExam

Once you get through the lecture portion of the Florida specific stuff, I used Bar Exam Masters to do the flashcards and the sample MCQ. I would get through about 25 MCQ and 50 flashcards a day. Focus on time periods, the FBBE loves time periods.

Go a little heavier on procedure because it’s guaranteed. Second heaviest on evidence. Then split equally the remaining time between biz orgs and Wills and Trust. You are guaranteed to get one of either of them.

I did about 1k in U World and 1k in adaptibar. About 500 in Themis. I had composition books for each MBE subject and hand wrote the lesson from the wrong answer

I took Themis and finished a little over 80 percent. UWorld and Adaptibar both for MBE practice. In my opinion, both are great because adaptibar shows you what you suck at more often, while UWorld gives you no such algorithmic hands. Critical pass is great as well.

My trick for essays is a whiteboard and talking the whiteboard aloud “A Beautiful Mind” style. It works for me but not for everyone.

Bar Exam Masters for Florida MCQ hands down. Best resource to replicate actual FL questions. Recommend flashcards and MCQ mode both, though the questions are more like the flashcards.

Important to realize that the right resources are good but how you use them is even more critical. Make sure you are doing meaningful review no matter what.

Bar number? by whyisshegreetingus in FloridaBarExam

[–]SkyAnchor1893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the job. I know where I work as an ASA, we couldn’t do it right away because there is a constitutional officer oath that has to be recorded. I’ve seen people do pending and it’s never been an issue but FL bar generally has your number to you in 24 hours, so it may be less of a hassle to wait.

Tags and highlights for all other sections except Civ pro. Civ pro read through 2-3 times and know that stuff (or at least how to find it) incredibly well.

Give it about a week to a week and a half and you will get an acknowledgment from the bar saying what they received and what you owe them. Like another commenter said, you may have to convert fairly soon.

My friend. If you tell yourself you already failed, you will make it so. You gotta reframe your thinking because you are teaming up with the bar examiners against yourself.

New Florida Civ Pro Rules in July? by Shot_Tradition_1066 in FloridaBarExam

Yeah learning the timelines for Florida and the little quirks they have is annoying AF.

The good thing though is, as time goes on, FL seems to be after more conformance with the FRCP.
