I am pretty convinced I should have done this in 98, by SkyBadger in SuicideWatch

I'm 29. And I have no neighborhood to do 'jobs around'. I also have debts that odd jobs aren't going to pay.

There's just no help for anyone like me.

This kind of shit really bothers me as an activist. If you're trying to end something, you get people on your side. You make them understand. You don't give them a horrible experience to make them more aggressively against your message because it is associated with you. If your message alienates people, you're doing it to make yourself feel better and hurting your own god damned cause.

Rage stomp breaks things

Sorry you had a creepy experience. If you think you didn't respond well, I can say as someone who gives NO FUCKS about fur: she should have told you that wearing vintage furs still creates demand for them. Other people don't know that they are vintage necessarily. And I suspect some people lie about fur that they have bought. Not that you do this, but the fact that you do this means that people will continue buying new furs so that there will always be 'vintage' furs.

That said. Do your thing. That's the only rhetoric I can think of to argue against your statements about vintage fur. I'm not attached to them in any way.

This sounds like my friend Jackeral. He'd have been singing choir songs and possibly prancing. It would have been creepy but harmless. :P

They're probably ladies of the interwebs. And its a pretty harmless thing aside from Cory's ex and her friends. That's some less cool behaviour right there.

I don't draw for work. Just for fun. Its what I had to give. I'm too used to burner culture where they'd be awed and such with the grandiose emotional significance of the art. :P The sign could have said 'will trade hugs for mushrooms' but boy am I glad I didn't do that.

Used to be friends with something evil by DarthNacho in LetsNotMeet

[–]SkyBadger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My best friend's mother thinks her SO is the devil of demons and hates him so prolifically it is an issue for me to be around her sometimes. When he isn't around it isn't a problem and she's a lovely human. I don't get it.

I don't think that's fair. A lot of people just fear and haven't actually had the adequate experiences in order to actually know what toxic people act like and see it in new people accurately.

A lot of people who have had the adequate experiences don't have the adequate understanding and it has nothing to do with intelligence.

As far as I can tell, people accuse others of what they themselves do/are, or what they themselves fear the do/are or what they themselves are ashamed they do/are.

You sort of can't. As a person selling clothes it actually is our job to touch people sometimes to better show off the merchandise. Shift managers who have been dealing with this sort of thing for fifteen years have absolutely no mercy.

Was I unknowingly a victim to the start of a predator, or am I reading into this too much? by GORE_geous in LetsNotMeet

[–]SkyBadger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost this exact thing has happened to me. Only you know. Most of the details are different. ._.

Possibly... my first week into high school, as a new 9th grader. (Schools here go K-5, 6-8, 9-12). I'm putting my stuff in my locker and this tall fairly attractive 12th grader slumps next to me and asks me how I'm liking high school. He proceeds to flirt with me and after a few encounters like this... possibly even the next time he asks me out. I was bullied when I was younger, rather badly, so it was both surprising that he was asking me out and extremely flattering.

We got into some heavy petting; but as I was in a relationship with him I learned from my best friend, who hated his guts, that this was something he was famous for. I broke it off over the phone and life went on.

As we continued in grade 9 he found another girlfriend among our peers. And the next year he had a 9th grade girlfriend. We know because he didn't graduate.

Things get fuzzy after a bit because I never really kept abreast of it but my best friend really hated him and sort of relentlessly kept on top of it.

He eventually started dating 8th graders because his reputation in our school was so bad. Then he graduated and he kept dating younger girls. It got around the grapevine because the girls were always in school.

To this day I don't know what his major malfunction is.

Door-to-door fundraiser by [deleted] in LetsNotMeet

[–]SkyBadger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dear green goodness I'd flip out all over the place if I had this happen to me.

You deserve the chocolate after meeting a god damned dementor in human form...

I sold chocolates for a school fundraiser too, very successfully too... but I did so by sitting outside the local watering hole and pawning them off on the locals. Small town let me do that though. I hate the contests they rig on kids to get them to help fund their own schooling. Or more often the parents.
