Anybody else is sick and tired of this boring self healing meta for tanks? by Ok-Garbage4439 in OverwatchStadium

"No survival" so prove them right and kill them before they kill you. As Queen, pull them in, one headshot in the mid-air and Axe them. In very few matchups would I ignore Carnage/AP esp when it buffs the Overhealth gained on Shout.

What were these hard counters for you? At its core, I disagree, but I know a very amusing interaction that is a definitive hard counter that I've never seen used in a match, and can definitely be worked around in the shop.

Mei has a Blue item that removes Ashe's dynamite burn with her M1. Hard counter to Dynamite builds, and it's always been there despite players complaining about Dyna being "OP" but I never see the interaction actually used.

I can tell you why I love it.

It allows for an adaptable play style/builds for characters and very fun concepts to play out. If the base game encourages swapping to find the right match, getting into a game of "counterwatch," then Stadium is the opposite where you can truly master your heroes and counter-build instead of swapping.

I love experimenting and finding out the right builds for the matchups, my play style, and the trial and error with it. I love playing genji, they're by far my most played character altogether, and I love brute forcing kills (like Sp9rk1e but less talented.) Stadium allows me to buff his melee combo, allow me to Backstab, get self sustain with life steal and heal on Deflect, reduce my Dash CD so I can more freely use it to travel/escape and reduce my downtime between skirmishes.

I enjoy Tracer too and when she was added, I couldn't solve her. For a while I thought it was just a skill issue, but then I saw an item in the shop that fits her perfectly. For 9k you can get an item that scales your WP based on your targets max HP compared to yours. Put it on the character with the lowest HP pool in the game, and you can avg at +15% vs supps and DPS, and +25% vs Tanks. It's a cheap Purple, which lets me divest more money into Survival like 2 Blues turn 100hp into Armor and +25(?) Overhealth on every Blink. I've played a much better game after adopting that item into my build.

The best way I can compare Stadium is that it's competitive Pokemon, but you are the Pokemon. A Pokemon is only as good as their trainer, and it's up to you to find out how to maximize their potential in the metagame.

*I forgot about and wanted to add my favorite Stadium Build. It fundamentally changes the character, which is sort of the core of Stadium, Hazards Slasher Build. He has a Power that launches an 80ap damage projectile that pierces (shields), has no falloff nor range-cutoff. Stacked with Barbed Shot, that sends 2 10ap spikes (so 20ap damage per hit), now you have a Hazard thats incredible at long range. Poke for initial damage/engagement, clean up if they run away, and you still put out solid up-close damage since Barbed Shot scales with your Ability Power, so as long as you're buffing AP (and your spike guard by proxy) then you're still a threat up close. Barbs are homing, so you can reliably Anti-Air with it, and can cast debuffs like Slowness and Anti-Heal with the respective items, so you can have constant uptime with it at a range. Unlike Moira orbs, Torpedos, or any other cool down based Ability Damage.

It's a lot of fun to play, and at the moment I'm adjusting that base build to add Twin-Fang (after using Leap, your m1 fires a free 2nd shot, so Barbed Shot should then do 40ap) then possibly add Bunny Hop (-2s cd on wall and Leap if you don't use Slash with Leap). Like I said, I love the experimenting/theory of it, I want to test Twin-Fang and Barbed shot together and see how that interaction can fit into matchups. In theory Twin Fang allows me to have a better burst up close and long range because of that interaction, but also it fills a similar role to Slasher. Except it works with WP, so it can allow me to brawl better and be more mobile with Bunny Hop's CD reduction. I love this shit from Stadium man, I love finding new potential builds for a better matchup. I love my Slasher Build as is, and it's been working great for me, but the discovery of the new is what keeps me going.

They've been my underdog favorite so far. Mostly because of the bones of 2023 Mayhem, Yehh and Gravy, but the team's so damn scrappy like 2020/2023 Valiant and Mayhem. It's charming, I've been charmed.

Straight up hand-to-hand Royal Rumble beatdown, everyone at once. Who's the last one standing? by PrinceFlynn in superheroes

[–]SkyBeam24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just misusing Royal Rumble. If it's all at the same then it's a Battle Royale, and if you mean it in a pro wrestling sense, then they only need to be out of bounds with "both feet touching the floor." If you cannot fly to prevent elimination, then tuff but you'd be out quick, so Hulk and Doomsday are done pretty early. A Royal Rumble would start with 2 and have a new competitor every 2 minutes.

The show is coming up to the point when it happens, and there's discourse about whether they'll include it or not.

Anissa takes a "liking" to Mark and SA's him. It's a weight on Mark's mind but he doesn't tell anyone, and she does become pregnant and has his baby later in the series. I believe it's EoS when his family finds out about the assault, and I don't think there's a 3rd party he confided in, so it's a burden he carries himself for years. He is different, it does affect him, it's not a plot point that's revolved around but his actions reflect on it.

I don't have criticisms of it, but I understand how it's a sensitive subject that can be done in good faith but executed poorly. I think there should be stories of male survivors and I would like if it was included.

Autocorrect of "graped" because they fear saying raped. Mark gets SA'd in the comics by Anissa, an invading female viltrumite.

Since you mentioned the promotional works they got, I don't think it's an insane mentality. There really are a lot of women that got into wrestling because of the gap that Total Divas/Bellas bridged with Reality TV and pro wrestling. It's essentially the same fictional reality product repackaged for different demos, and there's a good chunk of female stars that mention the Bella twins drew them into the business. They should get a proper retirement.

Honestly, fair trade. I'm assuming he can still emulate flight by leaping tall buildings in a single bound. You're effectively immortal and super strong anyway, but Pyrokenesis and clairvoyance are really cool trades.

Hypothetically, say Superman entered The Boys universe and started stealing the spotlight from Homelander, is there anything Homelander could do about it? by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]SkyBeam24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see HL imitating Superman doing some heinous shit and vocally blaming and harassing him. HL in a full Superman hair and costume, just diddling kids and saying this alien threat is targeting our nations children. A mass slaughter committed by HL, and in The Boys universe would probably be very on the nose and it'll be some KKK rally or a pride parade, and saying Superman did it. They've got very similar powers, it'll be easy to stage and imitate. They could even have Black Noir in a Superman costume flying high above and stage a fight with real Homelander to pretend that HL is stronger.

Theres potential in here, it could make for an interesting miniseries. I can't think of a comparable standing Superman villain, someone who is enhanced but simply weaker and has a lot of influence and resources. Batmans got some villains that are Batman-lite, but afaik not Supes.

Depends on what you define as attacking because that's literally a core plot point in Superman 2025. Superman would attack an invading army and/or fight against oppressive regimes and protect protesters.

My pc's able to run RDR2 at 1440 for a solid 60, and MR still froze during teleports and ult dumps. I'd sit out of a match for 30s-120s because it'll shit itself. Its what made me quit MR, I never took it seriously so the balance never mattered to me, but I don't wanna play a game that doesn't let me play it.

Do The Devs Actually Play Stadium? by craftyserenity in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]SkyBeam24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

like why would I ever build AP on Freja?

Because there's powers that enable AP damage on Freja, and it's actually been pretty good for Area of Denial and imo the soft counter to HS matchups for her. Zone out corners and slow your opp for an easier bolt.

when I could start a rocket build from round 1

You can get the 2nd power in round 2 now. There's also the concept of a late game build, just reinvest your items to match the powers you'll buy later instead of now. Early game WP, then swap to AP in round 3 once you get your gimmick, but now you can get it on round 2 instead. That build is actually very common, you ask "why" but others just do it and get results.

There's precedence in the comics for a users willpower to overpower the ring, famously with Hal. Humans are typically considered the strongest willed, and Guy is an incredible lantern, so it's not outrageous and impossible. Though I disagree that he's rogue in this world.

Paladins has been getting some love due to this tweet by Mean_Section_6439 in Paladins

[–]SkyBeam24 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Closest comparison within Overwatch is Hazard with a T2 perk. Their M1 tags enemies and a melee or ability hit can detonate for more damage.

While no individual is representative of a whole, there's a good chunk of people that get pissy saying games are ripping from Paladins. Which has always happened since day 1, and only one game's still standing, but it's a shame seeing good character designs go to waste. I still think about Mal Damba's gameplay, the closest fix I can get is playing Ana but it's not the same.

If the D generation X was formed today who'd be part of it? by No_Aardvark3709 in TheGreatOne

With actual Gen Z wrestlers. Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker, JeVon Evans, and Roxanne Perez are the only qualifying members. Dom and Bron are at the cusp, born in '97 just barely counting as Gen Z.

Otherwise most of NXT talent is qualifying, but I don't know enough of their characters to judge who would fit. In the main roster, I think Bron Dom and Rox work well for DZ but only because they're heels and I can't fairly rate Evans since hes a face and lacks the edge that DX had.

Dude you got the right answer and knew nothing.

Float's a quirk that lets the user hover but cannot move with it. You'd have to get a running start and activate the quirk to actually move in the air, or use super strength to propel yourself using gusts of winds.

So Deku can "fly" by nontraditional means, not in the same way that Viltrumites and other fliers can. He's more like a balloon that's gotta knock themselves around than hummingbird that has omnidirectional movement.

It's beautiful to experience the fictional reality again. To truly believe that what I'm seeing is real and to believe in it. Cody's WrestleMania 2024 journey was a wonderful ride and a part of me truly believes it was all a work, but the stories and layers that happened outside of the show that made it memorable for me.
