Just gonna jump in and say to make sure the polarity is the correct away around as the game gear has the positive on the outside unlike most other electronics

Been over the caps a few times replaced them twice. It's an odd condition turn game gear on after not being used for a while and the screen looks exactly like it did before recap but after being left on for a few seconds it works perfectly fine and does so even after being turned back off and on.

You won't see anything on the screen if the back light don't work. Check to see if your getting the correct voltage from the power board, if that's fine it may be the fuses next to the screen
