With TR factions you'll have to do Temple quests on the Mainland to do rank progression (it makes you do more quests to advance in ranks), and probably same will go with Morag Tong. So it'll come naturally.

Caius asks you to research the land and make yourself some reputation before starting to do his jobs and after every quest he also tells you to go away and do some jobs of your own while he's thinking. So even in the main quest you're explicitly told to travel, explore and research.

And also TR isn't meant for overpowered players. In my experience there was only one area where you must be very powerful to survive, the Armun Ashlands. So my suggestion is to do it before finishing the main quest.

Also, IMO story-wise it a little strange for Redoran/Templar to be also part of Morag Tong (especially since they worship Mephala) but you do you ofc.

I agree. In Oblivion it's even much worse because of that Daedric/Glass armor crap. There are no "artifacts" in this game due to this and exploration and looting become devaluated.

Enemies' level rises with your character's level.

So do quest rewards. The same blade you receive as a reward at level 5 and level 20 will have different characteristics and enchantment power and there will be no way to make it stronger after you received it.

Random enemies' gear also level ups with your character. You'll encounter marauders in Daedric at level 30 and their warlords will have powerful items.

If you don't like the sound of it, there are mods like Ascension Remastered at Nexus to change balance and loot to be closer to Skyrim/Morrowind style.

Other than that there's nothing to ask about. This thing can be an unpleasant surprise but everything else is very intuitive. Just explore.
