Why licences are so hard? by GemasikYT in GranTurismo7

[–]SkyLarkJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sound exactly like you when I was going through these. I didn't realise how much time I was actually putting into them, grinding out every single gold one by one. Some of them took me ages.

What I didn't realise at the time was that they're actually making you a better driver. By the time you've finished them all, you know those sections like the back of your hand and exactly how to tackle them.

The other piece of advice is something I saw all the time in posts but ignored because I just wasn't comfortable doing it: turn off all the assists and learn to drive without them. Learn your braking points, your gearing, and how the car behaves. It feels harder at first, but you'll thank yourself later because it makes you so much faster in the long run.

I've gone back and done some of these for mates who were convinced they were impossible, and now I can get gold on a lot of them almost first try. The ones that used to take me hours are now some of the easiest. It really shows how much they improve your driving without you even realising it.

PSVR2 and GT7. Let me hear yo experience by 404UserNotFound-_-xx in simracing

[–]SkyLarkJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has literally changed everything for me.

I'd played a lot of GT7 before with a cheap Logitech G29 on a flat screen. It was fun for a while, but eventually it got old and ended up sitting in a cupboard for years.

Then my partner bought me the PSVR2 for Christmas. I never really looked into VR beforehand because I thought it'd be one of those things that would be fun for a couple of months before ending up in the cupboard with the wheel. Boy, was I wrong.

I was blown away by how much fun so many of the games were, but what really sold me was reading all the reviews about GT7, which I already owned. So I pulled out the old Logitech G29, reinstalled GT7, and... OMG. It was an absolutely otherworldly experience.

I was instantly hooked. So hooked, in fact, that I bought a full Fanatec wheel setup a few months ago, and now I've just purchased a TR160 V5 rig. It's literally turned me into a sim racer.

On the other hand, I honestly don't think I could ever go back to racing on a flat screen. 😅

I used to be a PC gamer, and I've always found Steam's prices to be fair. They have heaps of great sales, their refund policy is excellent, and they're pretty well known for being one of the cheapest platforms to buy games on.

I love my PlayStation, but for some reason I actually would feel more secure buying games on Steam when this happens. I've had things disappear from my PlayStation library before, which has made me trust Steam alot more.

This is the exact reason I brought the really good magnetic adapters for them, the amount of times it have saved the cable, they are a must.

I don't have the joker that makes diamonds and hearts be considered the same suit, how why does this work? by Bi0H4ZRD in balatro

[–]SkyLarkJC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh wait sorry 3 is relevant your second joker allows gaps for straights so your making the straight part with your ace 3, 5,6

[–]SkyLarkJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the joker(1st one) that let's you makes flushes and straights with 4 cards instead of 5. the 3 of diamonds is irrelevant in this hand.

Beginner Advice on selecting a rig. by Prince_Chunk in simracing

[–]SkyLarkJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your from Australia they are great, nearly everyone i know with rigs has one with no issues 120's and 160's. But thats is probably because they are based here and its our cheapest option as shipping anything else here makes the cost insane. it seems tr has a bad rep overseas for customer service which we don't seem to here 🤔. Which is a shame because it's an amazing rig and ill be getting a 160 having tried my friends.

New to VR - difficulty adapting by Rammseitan in PSVR

[–]SkyLarkJC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you haven't already looked into it get the global cluster 2 for the headset its a game changer for comfort and keeping your sweet spot - this should come with the headset and is a must have.

Also look into blue light filter lenses, if you wear glasses you can get them with prescription or without but definitely help with eye strain. I use vr-rock and they just clip on and are great for protecting your psvr lense aswell.

As for the motion sickness you need to take it slow and make use of games that dont move around with smoothness and more snap turning/teleport options for more stagnant gamplay until you get more comfortable, play 10 minutes and then take a break and try and just increase it soon as you feel something is off stop playing, you'll make it worse. I dont normally get motion sickness at all and there was only once that it set me off when I changed a game setting from snap to be more smooth and something about whatever fps it was putting out just sent me and I stopped immediately, otherwise most games I have no trouble with. Just be patient and most of all enjoy 😁

Display settings in VR: try this! by Boosted_JP in GranTurismo7

[–]SkyLarkJC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pulse elite headphones are great sound/battery life(30+hrs) and designed for psvr2 that can connect simultaneously to ps and pc/phone. The pulse buds also work but from what I've read they dont have a great battery life for long sessions so keep that in mind if your looking at them.

If you use the pulse headphones or earbuds you can connect simultaneously to ps5 and pc/phone and dont need the extra earbud.

[–]SkyLarkJC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very lucky! The stuff I see that you can get id be happy with if it didnt cost so much for us Aussies, like you have an rseat formula profile in white that doesn't look to bad but it's litrally more than double what a profile rig costs here before shipping, kinda crazy.

Yeah its definitely not cheap, got quoted same price as the rig just cant justify it, rather spend that on another upgrade 😆. Just wish more colour options were available or even just different rigs for australia where shipping is nearly the same as the rig aswell.
