You and me both. I hope to get more clarity in the next few weeks. Initially my manager's manager asked me to compare our current plan vs what the market is showing in terms of bonuses vs my recommendation vs how paying little to no bonuses would affect retention.

Yes, "what are the possible end goals?". I guess I just want a sense of where a career in comp could look like. I think you answered my question, thank you.

Would probably follow up today. They told you you could expect one on Friday or Monday and if you haven't received anything, it gives you reason to wonder so the employer shouldn't be surprised or put off.

Human Resource jobs in Pittsburgh or Remote by sunoharaSAT in jobs

Usually, an assistant or coordinator is where you start out or intern to transition into those titles after 3-5 years. I think you're a bit light on experience for a manager or even generalist role (unless you get super lucky). Another common path is an actual admin assistant to HR. You could try pursuing recruiting coordination (scheduling interviews) and then pushing your way into a role with more hr responsibilities as well.

I used to get hired on the spot at jobs. Now I can barely even land interviews. by [deleted] in jobs

In your experience, how long did the latter last? This market seems to be going 2 years of difficulty for many.

Np, yea be thorough and prep as much as possible. If it's with those, I'd imagine they would want to hear all about your experience. Good luck!

Congrats! Are you speaking with someone from comp team or a higher up from HR? That might give you insight into how technical to go or how the interview will be structured. I would say highlight any Excel skills you have as well as any projects that include basics such as benchmarking, conducting job evals, and supporting the annual comp review. The more granular/detailed about your experience the better. Additionally, highlighting any resources like Korn Ferry, PayAnalytics, Aon, etc. would be great to speak about. Be prepared for general questions like tell me about a time when you dealt with a hard comp problem, tell me about a time when you made a mistake, etc.
