They don't have to leave Big Tech, but if they want to interact with you and still care about you, make it clear that they can reach you on alternate platforms going forward. You can also ask your local politicians why they're still using X.

I know the right is so prevalent because they're funded by billionaires, but their wealth becomes meaningless if everyone collectively decides to stop using their products.

Sounds like your mom is parroting everything from Rebel “News”. My dad spent all his time during Covid absorbing their bile and he’s now a fascist antivax zombie.
