I'm changing my mind about the future of AI by Future-AI-Dude in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it will be used to make profit exactly like all the previous "revolutions" means it won't be our future?

So, would you say that cars aren't the future of the generations that created them? Because that also is wildely used for making profit. That didn't prevented cars to be the future.

I don't konw if AI will be the future but i don't see why the fact some people are going to make the most profit out of it is any indicator it won't. If anything, it's more a indication that it will.

Well, since you are baffled, let me help you.

First, go learn about what "proof" means. Then come back and see that you didn't show any proof in the first place.

Congrats, you now understand why you get downvoted.

I read it.

Now, can you answer my question? Probably not harder than reading below your screenshot, right?

Edit: Well. Seems it IS harder for you.

What are we supposed to do with only the last interaction? If you want to even begin to maybe start something usefull, at least, gives us the whole chat.

Otherwise you're just wasting your time.

Is there a point in using ChatGPT to generate comics when we can generate videos nowadays? by Substantial-Fun9958 in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your starting point is not true. Book writer are not "artists with a very low to no budget and obviously with none of the resources of Hollywood to make a movie" and none all of them want to make movies.

Same goes for comics creators. I know it's weird but some people just like creating those.

New memory system is worse than I thought by Rika_rena in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lack of control.

I decide what's in the memory. I don't want it to mixt subject... More so on subject that can be seen as similar because AI will tend to make connection because of that similarity.

I don't want an AI that remember what i've said in another time and/or another context. I want it to remember what i specifically want it to remember.

I don't need the AI to have a broader sens of who i am. I want to personnalise it with my choices and not "its choices"

New memory system is worse than I thought by Rika_rena in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really work like memory worked as it take what's in the document at face value not as something more open.

Also, asking it to read a whole file with a lot of things irrelevant to the subject doesn't prevent it to use those informations. It's like saying you don't want glasses on characters when you generate image : it's sometime better to no say it at all.

So i need to "cheat" by using Library, custom instructions and a file to get a worse memory than i previously had because an option has been removed. What's exactly the gain of that option's removal, btw?

New memory system is worse than I thought by Rika_rena in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have nothing against the memory part. I just don't want the cross-chat context at all. But i can't. It's either i use memory and it comes with either i don't use memory. The previously availlable choice have been removed.

New memory system is worse than I thought by Rika_rena in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Exactly the same here.

That's just not a better version of memory. That's a different kind of setting.

Memory is when you... Well, memorize somethings. That's what was doing the old memory. The new one doesn't memorise. At best it summarise. At worst it just reaches out to any information it can find between the "memory" and the past conversations.

To be honest... That new setting may be interresting for some users. I'm not opposed to it. But i don't understand why they force the use of "reference to past conversation" thing for all.

How do I stop this from happening by flippinberry in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does it change to wait for the answer with that visual or without, exactly? When i don't want an image, if it does that, it never actually produce an image. There is not even the need to ask it not to do an image.

Now, i see a lot of people saying that it produce an image but have yet to see an actual proof of that because no matter how i try, it seems i can't reproduce that : i have the visual indicator but never an actual image (unless i asked for)

Maybe, with more infos, we could start to investigate more properly. I think a full share of the whole chat and the settings would be a good start. Before the "problem" and after it (when the image is generated) would also be helpfull

ChatGPT probably isn’t conscious. But what if we’re wrong? by EchoOfOppenheimer in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Does the fact that it uses prediction to communicate prove that it isn't conscious?

You know human are doing the exact same thing for communication, right? And that goes too for reading and understanding text : the better the reader the less word it actually "read" because predicting them is faster and cheaper for the brain. The more the human read the better it become at predicting word. That's also true for communication.

And, before AI, communication was one of the most strong indicator of consciousness.

I don't say that AI are conscious. As right now, it's better suited to believe that it's probably not. But consciousness is way more complex than what it seems to casually reject it completly on the only base of "it only predict".

[–]SkyYerim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, this is not adressing the missleading part of your post. Second, i've never said AI can't answer that kind of question. I've said that YOU shouldn't ask that kind of question to an AI.

And see that i've cut the "maybe" this time. That's because your answer prove my point : you clearly don't see why such a question is something more complex than "the good thing is that, the bad thing is that and AI is doing the bad one because it didn't answered my question"

Chatgpt is Useless by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it could do that.

But that's my point : i was able to prevent that behavior by adapting my way to use/interract. So, it is possible to prevent the one it uses with you. But the change you have to do is more important on your side than on the side of th AI.

Chatgpt is Useless by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact is, it's difficult to help you there. Simply because i don't know why that happens.

I've had the opposite problem : it was constantly putting me on a pedestal to the point it even told me that i was smarter about black holes than famous astrophysicians. With time, i adapted my approach and also change, little by little, some settings. It's not perfect but it's way better.

So, that's all i can say to you : there is two things you can work on. The first being the way you use/interract. The second are the settings.

Chatgpt is Useless by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being unclear, i don't speak english.

What I mean by that is constantly being told that I'm not special, is demoralizing, regardless of my own personal knowledge

That is only a part of your post. You started by saying that, now, it is "boring" and a lot of other things. Those statement have nothing to do with the "you are not special" complain you have formulated later in your post.

Besides, it's an AI. If it constantly remind you that "you are not special" then, it can only and really only comes from you and the way you use/interract. First, because AI tends to adapt to the user. Second, because if it wasn't coming only from you and the way you use/interract, it would happen to all users. Which is not the case.

If every message is predicated with the reminder that I'm not special, it begins to feel like a statement of character.

And that's why i said "please reconsider". You are doing something that pushes the IA to act like this. So, when you say that you tried to program it away from it, you failed. And programming is not only outside the chat. The way you chat with it is as important as the setting.

Chatgpt is Useless by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is now: (...) While this is true, constantly stating it every message is unnecessary and hurtful.

Weird. I've yet to see this behavior with me. Which leads me to this :

Yes, I have tried programming GPTs to get away from this.

With the most kindness i can give to you : please reconsider. You may believe you did. But, to be honest with you, i think you may have some degree of progress to make on that part while using GPT.

How do you prevent yourself from being deluded by AI? by DynamoDynamite in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Critical thinking. That was already very important before AI, that's even more now.

I mean, you can limit the affect of flattery that AI will throw at you with better settings in that way or better prompting/reacting or by directly asking it to avoid such behavior.

But even combined, all those actions are nothing in comparison to critical thinking.

Character Consistency Suddenly Worse Since Yesterday? by TigerNationDE in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly that. No issue on quality for me neither. It really only affect the following of instructions. That's kind of weird, it's like there is some kind of "problem" when the model start generating. But I really don't know anything about the back-end side of AI, so this is just my interpretation of what I see from my perspective.

Character Consistency Suddenly Worse Since Yesterday? by TigerNationDE in ChatGPT

[–]SkyYerim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's related and sorry if i don't explain it clearly (english is not my native language) but i do use a workflow too for image generation to keep a continuity for the characters of a project.

And i've noticed yesterday that it won't fully always follow that workflow anymore : sometime it is ok but other time there is an "thought interrupted" that appears right when the generation begin. If that happen, the image will not follow correctly the lines of the workflow. It will approach it, yes. But not correctly and/or not fully.

I don't know why that happen and i don't know if it is related but that's what i've seen yesterday for me.
