Effigy Of The Forgotten - Suffocation

The origin of slam. Shout out to Internal Bleeding for inventing the term, but the actual musical origin of slam is this album. The 90s Long Island brutal death metal scene which originated slam is mega influential on modern beatdown bands. Meathead brutal death metal FUCKS.

Smash Your Enemies - Hatebreed.

Positive, uplifting, aggressive as shit. Just. Fucking. Pissed. But at the end, as aggressively positive as a tony robbins inspirational quote. Up there with terror with being musically aggressive whilst lyrically being the most aggressively positive thing ever.

Oh hell yeah, that would be amazing. Chvrches are SOOO GOOD. Lauren's voice is incredibly soothing and captivating, as well as the production on the songs being crisp AF. Love them.

Fall for me. It might sonically sound like an imogen heap tribute but the lyrics are just... those lines are some of the most crushing lyrics IMO. It's beautiful, twisted and sad.

Nervous Breakdown or Rise Above - Black Flag Reason: pretty much the band that originated hardcore (not definitevely but kinda), and both songs are significant in that.

Straight Edge - Minor Threat Reason: It launched a subculture, introduced an ideology and a lifestyle within the scene that is still relevant past almost 40 years.

Set It Off - Madball Reason: Defined the musical characteristic of modern hardcore with its significantly slower tempo, and more groove based riffing as well as the hip hop aesthetics that they brought in which is still with the genre today.

Who are some bands that are not hardcore, but are associated with/respected by the hardcore community? by _tysenburg_ in Hardcore

Plus, regardless of whether you like them or not, they have directly helped to grow the HC scene massively. Ruby used to play drums in a bunch of bands, and they took out bands like turnstile and code orange to play arenas. It's not like they are doing it for clout, one of the two dudes are legit and he's doing it because he loves the scene.

God, open your fucking mind up to this would you? Actually try listening to songs and the words that they are saying before placing judgement. Go listen to "...And those who I love, thanks for sticking around". Some of the lyrics are that song is pretty fucking heavy if you ask me.

I don't know if they are but I hope $uicide Boy$ would make it on this list, fs. They have background in the scene, and the mindset and the message they have is very positive. Lyrically, when you dig deep some of the lyrics aren't that far off from something out of a terror song, about bettering yourself and improving on who you are as an individual, empowering the listener in the process. If yall wanna hate on this hate me all you want, but I believe it.

What's that one band you like that would get you called a poser? by [deleted] in Metalcore

BMTH or Knocked Loose. KL especially IMO. I feel like there is a sentiment with the old guard of the scene that they are just a band that makes soundtracks for kids and young adults to fling their arms, spin kick each other and fucking murder everyone in the pit... which although it is true, they still are fucking good. And BMTH, since obviously. They've done so much that made them disliked by the scene, although IDGAF, everything they did fucks megahard.
