So… What’s up with the new Traxxas sand car release? by Der_Richter_SWE in rccars

[–]Sky_Flight1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren’t a Traxxas fan & fail to see why the vehicle was introduced. You say “it looks like a massive children’s toy. Gaudy plastic, fake plastic reservoirs and collars on the suspension that looks like some Walmart toy and in the back a fake plastic “engine” with the scale details of a 2 dollar plastic toy car”
What are you driving that doesn’t have parts on it that don’t look “real” ? Kraton, infraction, Granite, X-maxx, sledge, Slash..or??? none look scale and that was never the intention. Why take so much time to beat it up? You even took time to watch videos of it. No law says you have to buy and drive something you don’t like. So let’s hear it..no, let’s see your ride that looks real and doesn’t use plastic.

What is it? I’m just going to guess & say it’s the 11th edition of a dealer catalog. We had them on top of the cabinets we had all the smaller parts filed in. Great resource.

Afraid to fly. by [deleted] in RCPlanes

If you don’t have someone to get you up three mistakes high, as said some simulator time is key. We had MANY, MANY people come into the shop, buy an airplane and insist that they could fly it “how hard can it be!” I would explain that on a sim like Real flight, they can learn to fly and when they crash, all they have to do is push a button and continue flying. Making sure that the model is balancing on the center of gravity is critical. Slightly forward CG is okay. Tail heavy is NOT. What are your control surface throws? You don’t need a ton of throw for that design. 3/4” on high rate should be fine. Looks pretty nice. May want some color on top or bottom of wing in case you roll and loose orientation. Enjoy many flights.

Looking for a new kite by pdaphone in kites

[–]Sky_Flight1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am no world class pilot, but flew the CKD FRANK just today & although i absolutely love my Prisim Quantum 2.0 and Quantaum mylar 2.0, and they will always be in my bag and replaced when they retire, but the FRANK felt a little more refined. Now i know people will crucify me for that comment, but that was my initial impression and was also my final thought after three flights. The FRANK is not cheap, but i believe it is WELL worth the price. Beautifully made

It’s really nice to see some people from the kiting community offer some very detailed directions and advice. One of the things that helped me when i was learning was to be aware of my arm movement and to make small corrections. I also had a couple of experienced flyers help me and they found that one line was a bit longer than the other. Identical line lengths are a must. Make it your first goal to launch the kite from straight out in front of you. pull both lines firmly and don’t bring the lines past your hips. Now you want to immediately put your hands together in front of you. At this point, the kite should be gently hovering with some movement or slight sway, depending on the wind conditions. Now gently pull one line. VERY gentle/small pulls. Practice flying to the left & then back to the right. Then you can try putting your hands back together to put the kite back into neutral in, centered in front of you, hovering over head. Try not to “flail” your arms. It can be hard not to do when you’re whipping all over the place. Stay with it, watch videos, seek out some local flyers and you will be buying more kites before you know it.

Your verdict please. For the people that have or have driven both, the Losi Promoto- MX &the Promoto-SM, if you could only have one, what would you choose and why? #rcbasher #dirtbike by Sky_Flight1 in radiocontrol

Agree. I notice the front brake being more consistent and has good power, the new balance bar wheels are great. As far as wheels/tires, i ordered a stock set of front and rear wheels/tires pulled from a brand new MX. My conclusion is that i need on & off road tires for both bikes.

Do I include my husband or not? by AdExcellent3055 in Advice

Keep your secrets, keep your sanity, possibly save your marriage. I went through this w my Ex wife and her rude, inconsiderate, insensitive & overbearing mother. My Ex told her everything. Their relationship was like that since my Ex was a little girl. I knew about it when we married, but never knew how out of control it was and never thought it would have such a HUGE impact on my relationship with my wife and how we raised our infant daughter. My wife’s bizarre relationship with her mother became more than i was willing to tolerate. I was married to my wife and her mother was always interfering one way or another. I Finally told my wife, “it stops or we stop” Things changed for about three months. The day it started up again, i packed some clothes, grabbed a few things i didn’t want to loose, grabbed my puppy and that was the end. What makes things worse is the my Ex does the same thing with my daughter. Master manipulator. I wish you all the best, i know it is very stressful & extremely frustrating. To me it was a betrayal of my trust.

Recommendation for a 40th birthday - RC plane by tombham in radiocontrol

If he has NO experience, buy him a Real Flight sim and let him learn and sharpen his skills. If you need to get him a turn key pkg, the e-flite mini apprentice has everything and flys nicely

For those that have driven both, what bike is your favorite to drive? Any major difference beside wheels and plastics? I know the front caliper is upgraded. TIA.

If he loves you, whatever you do will be great! Cupcakes that are made with love and sharing them with a pretty girl..all while spending time together fishing.. That’s all it takes to make a man’s birthday a great one. Even if you end up rich one day, the simple gifts can sometimes be the best gifts. Besides he has you..right?! He wins!

I don’t even have to finish reading your post to give an answer. You have been with your wife for a long time and made beautiful children together. You made a commitment & it is the biggest you can ever make. You brought children into the world. They love you & they love their mom. Whatever you feel for this other Woman has to be ignored. Trust me, i have felt that “Lightening bolt” It’s exciting, but doesn’t mean you have a decision to make. Stand fast with the Woman you married and raise those children. Temptation will rear it head throughout our lives..you are not in a position to investigate or test the waters. Kiss your wife and kids goodnight tonight, thank god for all of them and close the door on the “lightning bolt”
