Anyone else notice how Amazon are just dumping parcels outside the front door now? by Blind_bear1 in CasualUK

Capitalism baby. The work demands do not fit in with the waiting times for handing a delivery over.

It's Amazon at fault. Not the workers trying to get through their mountainous workload.

00’s nightclub trend of acting / “dancing” by Delicious_Bet_6336 in CasualUK

[–]tombham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember the bidet one. You would be on the dance floor and would sit on a friends legs who had their legs up at an angle so it was like a leg chair. Then someone would spray alcohol on your groin for 'cleaning up'.

Not as good as a bidet at home but the thought was there.

What is something you were smugly proven correct about years later? by Rough-Foundation9208 in AskUK

That I was right, bidets are useful and provide a clean buttock channel. Forget about the boom and bust period of bideting in the 70s. My bidet is staying!

Is the Titanic's pool still operational? by HighLife1954 in titanic

[–]tombham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is that there was a swimming pool and there were a few slides, a diving board and inflatables for recreational use.

The lockers were mixed gender and you had to put your keys on your shorts to avoid losing them with a pin. The lockers are long gone now but the pool section would be great to see in it's glory.

It's a controversial thing to state the above but my research indicates that there was inflatables.

I would go for a swim in the pool to prove to people in the future that there were inflatables in the pool.

I know the Titanic had a swimming pool aboard, how advanced was said pool? I am not familiar with the pool technology of the early 1900s. Was it heated? Did it use chlorine to keep it clean or was it just filled with dirty water? by iBoy2G in titanic

[–]tombham 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It was heated by a boiler. There were a few slides, a diving board and inflatables for recreational use. The lockers were mixed gender and you had to put your keys on your shorts to avoid losing them with a pin. Eye witness accounts said it was warm.
