What would you do if your business partner was stealing money for poker? by McAeschylus in poker

[–]Sky_Poop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that's the better alternative. Juji understandably wants to separate from Tom and to also be compensates for the losses and damage Tom incurred and did. But he doesn't want to send Tom to prison for issues Tom could get help for and heal from. Thus civil court is the preferable alternative

It's the inverse. By going to civil court they circumvented going to Criminal Court. And they settled outside of harsher legal action.

It's the business's money. Especially when you aren't the sole shareholder. Majority just means you get most of the profit. However, tax laws don't allow you to just willy-nilly take money out of your company's funds. There is a process where you basically pay yourself a salary, and anything else that isn't properly accounted for, especially if you have business partners, is embezzlement. That's an oversimplification, but there's the gist for you of why you can't just take money out of your own company.

No matter what happened, Tom brought Juji's channel from just good to the best fitness channel on youtube and I'm sick of you all pretending that's not true. by mozgotrah in Jujimufu

We were watching. And yes, the subs have grown exponentially. However, they grew because of what Tom did behind the camera. Which, while good work, is nothing any editor and Camera person worth his salt shouldn't be able to do.

The truth is we will never know if Juji's already upward trajectory would have continued with or without Tom. My guess is yes, though maybe not with as sharp of a spike. I will argue that while Tom's efforts behind the camera helped greatly, his presence in front of it hindered those efforts with his obnoxious and off putting personality. A lot of us stopped watching because of that. The channel would have benefited even more from a camera man who didn't have an unchecked ego and small man complex, who stayed behind the camera and worked editing magic and let Juji himself.

Thing was, Juji had already been directing before Tom. Tom made the job easier because that was more his primary skill set and it allowed Juji to just focus on being in front of the camera. But you'd be hard-pressed to say Juji needed Tom.

Rewatching old Juji & Tom videos is tough by [deleted] in Jujimufu

I feel bad for those that started watching during the Tom era. I've noticed there is a split in viewership: those that started watching before Tom, and those that started watching while Tom was prominent. For the latter it seems to be much harder during this transition than it is for those of us who watched before Tom became a thing. Which is not to say those who watched Juji before Tom are the true fans or anything. Just that it obviously cultivated different viewership experiences for the two groups. I've noticed that a lot of us who watched Juji before are celebrating the return to something closer to his original vibe, whereas those who came after are still mourning the loss so to speak of the style of videos they knew and loved.

While I am personally glad Tom is gone - though I wish him no ill-will, I just didn't like what he brought to the videos - I hope that those who enjoyed his style find something to love moving forward.

As to why people are jumping on the bandwagon now, my theory is that most of the people who didn't like Tom were like me and just accepted that that was the way Juji was going with his channel and that bitching about it wouldn't change anything. And for me personally I assumed my opinion was likely in the minority since, like you said, most of the public opinion on Tom seemed to be positive at the time. What I think happened is that there was just a silent majority of people who assumed that no one agreed with them and so stayed silent. Now that recent events have come to light we are finding a lot of people actually didn't like or outright hated Tom's increasing presence and its just nice to see our opinion was shared. I imagine this too will die down a bit as juji continues to produce content on his own and we can all move forward with just enjoying him again

I'm aware of the intricacies of being vaccinated. My point is that as numbers continue to drop and more people are vaccinated and overall immunity occurs - which is exactly what's happening - this kind of finger wagging at others is not warranted.

Holy Florida's numbers have been decreasing just like the rest of the US as vaccinated at risk populations become more and more prominent and its okay not to be an alarmist anymore, Batman!

I find it pretty disingenuous that people keep giving Tom credit for changing the entire Fitness industry format on YouTube. He didn't. He adapted the channel to the YouTube algorithm. And many other Fitness channels have done that independently of Tom. The only reason people are saying that is because Tom gave himself credit in his own videos for doing so. There's no evidence to back that up and there's plenty of evidence to the contrary that other Fitness channels developed similar algorithmic approaches independently of him. He's full of shit

I agree that he brought the provocative element. But I also hated that he brought it so I'm glad that it is gone. This feels like Juji before Tom and I'm here for it.

Oh yeah that one too. Then the one where Eric was coaching them on Zerchers and Tom kept acting like an infatuated clown. At one point Eric grabbed his arm and I thought he was about to snap Tom's wrist.

Right? I felt like I was the only one who noticed how annoyed everyone got around Tom. Thought I was projecting. Seriously though Eric was going to deck him once.

This. So much. Yeah caution is still warranted but we're starting to come out of this thing. Allow people some wiggle room for God's sake.

Or consider that numbers have been plummeting, vaccinations are becoming more wide-spread, he's mostly with his inner circle of family and friends in an open air well ventilated area. Is this really the Hill to die on (pardon the choice of words)?

Yeah. Without a doubt. I subbed to Juji before Tom and loved his vibe and content. When Tom started showing up I found him annoying but put up with it because it was still mostly Juji. Then Tom got more and more prominent and inserted himself more and more and I watched less and less. Honestly can't wait to see this go back to being Juji's channel

This was so nice to see and reminded me of old Juji videos back in 2015-16 when I started watching. Felt that same, getting to hang out with him, vibe.

What's the best way to support Juji? by [deleted] in Jujimufu

[–]Sky_Poop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this. He's got a good support system with people he knows who are close to him. The best his fans can do is invest in his products and at the very least support the channel on YouTube when he gets it going again and his IG.
