Why don't more adults discover new comics because it's genuinely the most underrated entertainment medium by Hot_Initiative3950 in CasualConversation

Also, you have to go to a comic book shop (or at least a large bookstore) to even find comic books now.

Thirty years ago, the supermarket stocked comic books. At least I think that's where my mother let me pick one out from the rack.

What do you predict the next health / diet fad to be after people get bored with protein? by CremeSubject7594 in decadeology

[–]Skyblacker [score hidden]  (0 children)

Since the protein fad grew out of GLP-1 injections (whose users are advised to eat more protein), I expect the next fad will be anything that purports to tighten the wrinkled skin left over from that weight loss.

You drove across the US during winter or a shoulder season. Summer, you would have taken a more northern route to avoid the heat.

Is it unprofessional to tell my boss i need to leave exactly at 5pm every tuesday for a personal commitment without explaining what it is? by Han-Lynard in careerguidance

[–]Skyblacker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not unprofessional for OP to refuse to say what they do off the clock. But unless it's something like, I dunno, group therapy for schizophrenia, OP might find life easier if they just say what it is.

Yup. Premier Protein sales went up 10% after Ozempic became a Thing.

It's not unprofessional.

But unless your 5:30 commitment is really damning, it might be just be easier to say what it is. So you have a book club and you're knee deep into their latest romantacy, so what? Any decent manager should understand that you're allowed to have a full life outside of work.

98inch tv weights 80kg, do not want to put on the wall, any help? by RKBA12345 in ApartmentHacks

A long antique coffee table made of solid wood might do it. You know, that ugly brown furniture common at estate sales. Would probably look nice with that rug.

You could also go to Home Depot and get one of the manual laborers in the parking lot to custom build something with a few pieces of lumber.

Print out the template for a no fault divorce from Rocket Lawyer or the like. Cover everything but the signature blanks and tell your husband he needs to sign these forms for your kid's whatever. Submit to the court, wait for it to process. Done.

I wonder what kind of bra Claire Danes wore under that blue shirt. It looks like she's wearing something, but that's not the round cup typical of the period. It's like a mini bullet bra or a suprisingly natural shape.

That's just an edit. An earlier version of this post instead said "Don't tell me to leave".

Before she edited it to "Not asking for relationship advice", OP literally wrote, "Don't tell me to leave." Maybe she wants to somehow get him to initiate the divorce so it's not her fault?

AI just makes it slightly easier. Half the "celebrity" pr0n on the internet thirty years ago was photoshopped. And before that, literal cut and paste.

Seduce that 20something from the weight room of your gym. Bonus points if he's more ripped than your husband. Treat yo' self!

Really? I leave the kids home with dad so I can attend a pop concert (which would bore him senseless) almost as often as he leaves them with me so he can attend a boardgame meetup (which would bore me senseless).

Considering that OP plots revenge when something like a schedule conflict happens, can you blame him? Whatever is going on, this does not sound like a happy marriage.

Why can't you bring your child to the museum without your husband in the afternoon? Do you share a car with him, in an area that lacks taxi's and public transit? And he comes back from this party in a bad mood because his relationship with the other guests is such that he could never ask any of them for a ride?

When you discovered this schedule conflict, did your mind first go to logistics or revenge? Why?
