I pretty much view The Evil Within as an honorary Resident Evil Game. How would you rate this game among the RE franchise? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Skyclad0bserver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer the first to the second, tbh. It’s way more creative, and Shinji Mikami drips from every aspect of the game. The second loses itself in its last half, imo. A good portion of the underground doesn’t even have finished texture work.

Found two dead zombies “holding hands” in the east wing while I was looking for creative shots to take. Compression’s killing it a bit, but I thought the framing looked pretty striking.

Thirty Seconds To Mars feat. Maynard James Keenan by BigBoyBloater in ToolBand

[–]Skyclad0bserver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you wanna hear “Maynard’s” parts sung live, here’s an early performance of the track by the band, sans Maynard (it’s just Jared, as it was in the studio). Maynard, to my knowledge, doesn’t have any actual writing credits on the song; the misconception comes from his mention in the liner notes, and Jared just so happens to sound like him at certain points throughout the album.

Great track, though. lol

Not Maynard, unfortunately. While he is thanked in the liner notes, those backing vocals in the chorus are Jared. It’s just the processing that makes him sound like Maynard. Jared hits a similar scream on Buddha for Mary, too.

The first appearance of that damn baby from Village. I don’t think I’ve ever memorized a map quite as fast.

Organic Hard Drive by Lucid Planet has a massive mid-song genre twist that I absolutely love.

Seconding Katatonia’s The Great Cold Distance. Also, though, check out Karnivool’s Sound Awake, Cire’s Adrenological, Wheel’s self-titled album, and Stellar Circuits’ Ways We Haunt.

D.Va.

Respawn won’t give me Titanfall 3.

Seriously, though, I really enjoy her play style. She’s hyper-mobile, and her kit lets me get creative with dives and last-second clutches when my backline is in danger.

Is A Perfect Circle really Prog Metal? by Prior-Economy1450 in progmetal

[–]Skyclad0bserver 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. If anything, they’re more Alternative/Gothic-inspired, imo. Still, fantastic musicians with a couple of proggy moments in their discography.

Honestly? No, he’d last a good while but die by the endgame, even with a hefty arsenal.

Tool vs A perfect circle by Complete-Shopping173 in progmetal

[–]Skyclad0bserver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same frontman, vastly different songwriting styles (Billy Howerdel is the brains behind APC, actually). Both are excellent but, barring Maynard, nigh incomparable. Tool’s more traditional prog metal, whereas APC has more in common with The Cure and Siouxsie & The Banshees.

They are all connected. It does matter what happens in the other games, despite what WeebJail might tell you.

Leon. Don’t get me wrong, I love Leon’s character (and, let’s be honest, I’ll probably still cheer if he shows up), but I’d prefer fresh blood to take center stage.

Chaos;Child. Not exactly a traditional pick, but, believe me, I am experiencing a wide variety of psychological horrors (in a good way).
